| One of our favorite winter staples is the yearly Ski Trash get together, somewhere far away in Vermont. The early days saw Scarengella book a two bedroom condo that slept 6-8 at Sugarbush North. We'd typically get anywhere from 8-16 weekly visitors there, beginning in the late 80's. In the mid-nineties, Whitey took over the organizing and moved the group first to Mount Snow for a few years, and finally to Killington for nearly 10 years now. | On the Mountain Friday was a huge skiing day for the entire crew. 14 took to the snowy and crowd free conditions at our favorite Killington Lodge, Snowshed. Lots of yuks and a few bruises as well. Saturday saw very windy conditions with our lone heros Halv and Whitey battling the elements and each other. On Super Bowl Sunday, Justiney, Mike and ML also braved the cold conditions and had a great day on the slopes. The beauty of Killington is twofold. Skiing one, and hot tubbing with cocktails a very close 2nd... |
| Back at the Ranch Everyone arrived safely at the Hideaway Chalet on Thursday night, several were even sober. Of those not was Jenny Girl and Kimmie, who nearly killed a 3 gallon bottle of impressive looking vodka. Needless to say, they poured themselves out of the car and were last to arrive. The rest of the crew enjoyed the hot tub and great company all night long. Maybe too long. |

| Halv Not Self
Was it last year's lack of skiing (mostly hurling the final day)? Was it the inner fire that burns when people play with his hair? Was there a free box of Kleanex waiting at the Skyship Gondola? Whitey seems to think it was the Joe Patrone souped-up skis with Clark W. Griswald food preservative spray that launced Halvie to a rare 2009 victory, contested over the length of the Great Eastern Trail Friday afternoon. Both skiers manuvered at high speeds in unison through the cool S-Turns early on. When the flat section kicked it, Halv's skis responded. There was nothing Whitey could do but watch. And then cheat. With G enjoying his substantial lead just past the road overpass, Whitey thought it best to lose via DQ than lose fairly. He took an early turn, and was the first to reach the bottom. Nuff said. In other non sacnctioned races (where neither said "When"), the two were fairly matched. Enjoy it young Halv, Whitey won't lose in 2010! |
