Start point is Birmingham City FC (2pm), the Telford lads form our uni decide to streak inside the stadium...interestin start!
After a promising start we ended up with a 2hr walk 2 Birmingham Airport. 3hrs later afte failing to blag plane tickets to anywhere we decided to leave but couldnt even blag a train ticket! Eventually managed a coach ticket to Oxford (7pm), its a start!
Stuck in Oxford bus station for 5 HOURS as the next coach to Stansted Airport is 1.40am!!! Hopefully blag plane tickets there by lunchtime at least!
Friendly group of girls helps us find the right coach point, but holy fuck has the time dragged! We tried to sleep in the coach station, got kicked out at 11.30 for closin, then kicked out of the train station for same reason an hour later, spend next hour freezin our bollocks off! Surrounded by piss-heads, one just dropped his trousers without even realisin!
Day 2:
Made it to Stansted (4.30am), EasyJet looks No.1 target...
Stansted is feckin annoyin, no flights afta 5 hrs so we blag a train 2 London Liverpool St.(9.30) and the guy put us in 1st class! genius...
Walk to Waterloo Station, try 2 blag Eurostar to Paris (12.30pm), fail again, meet 2 random lads from Wolves (Paul n Kev) doin same competition as us and form Team GB as a gorup of 5! From now on we've gotta blag 5 tickets!
Blag the underground (1.30pm) to Victoria St. and then another coach to Dover (2.30pm), after trying to get coaches to Brussels, Oslo and Warsaw!!! National Express are on 1st name terms with us by now! Hopefully get a ferry next...
Fail to get a ferry, too many people have tried already, but persistence pays and we manage a return ticket, leaving at 5.15am, we can sleep happy at last!
Get abuse from random pissed-up scouser, especially Paul for some reason.
Day 3:
Onto the ferry around 5.15, exhausted, everything closed in Calasi so spend about 40mins there and get ferry straight back (9.30 French time) and back for 9.45 (English time). DISASTER...National Express computeres down so no chance of coach bk to London so manage to blag a train direct to Victoria St. which actually worked out better! Arrived at 1.25 but were told all coaches bk 2 Birmingham were full, however, last minute effort form guys in office proves that there is room on the Blackpool coach goin VIA BIRMINGHAM!!! Yeah baby, we're guna make it in time! Arrive in Birmingham around 4.40, find our way to Bar Risa safely by 5pm, back in plenty of time and very relieved.
Clean sweep for Loubghborough at presentations, winners made TOBAGO, 2nd place - Athens, 3rd place - Berling, not a bad effort ppl, but of all the teams to get back in time we come about join 4th/5th! Very happy with that! The night moves on, Team GB splits as Paul n Kev head home, everyones exhausted and time for a good kip when we get home...what a weekend!!!
