16. Colby Armstrong (W) CAN 6-1 180 18

RED(WHL) 72GP, 36-42-78-156

The Red Deer Rebels' right winger is considered an honest player by scouts, players and his hockey team.

Colby Armstrong is a very good skater with awareness for where his teammates are and are going to be. He is considered a hockey player with brains. His first pass is usually tape to tape so this young man is able to pass.

One thing that scouts worry about is Armstrong's size. At 6-1 180 pounds he's light but he is a solid player.

One scout wonders if Colby can play his style of game at the next level. Armstrong battles hard when there's a loose puck and likes to go to the net hard. The one thing most scouts like about Colby is he protects the puck well with his body as well as having a feisty side to his game collecting 278 penalty minutes in two seasons. Another fact that makes him attractive to the scouts is 26 of his 36 goals were scored even strength or shorthanded.

Most feel he will be a good second-liner, but he needs to work on his strength and has to put on weight, but chances are he will play well at the NHL level.
