Ground Zero : Day 31, Tuesday, Sept. 24/02 : Greetings everyone, I remember a time, not long ago, when my life was very structured and perhaps a little rigid. I commuted from Surrey to Kitsilano (Vancouver), where I worked 9 to 5 PM. I then commuted back to Surrey, where I would then participate in studies and training with the Fire-dept; and somewhere in between all that I fought for the rights of children. Now, after nearly three years, loosing all including my daughter, "I still have no abundance of time"' ACIVISTS NEEDED, the rewards shall be everlasting. "APPLY WITHIN". Was a quiet day at the court house this morning, not much to report. The usual looks from lawyers and such. The usuals seemed to have noticed the new sign, as I catch them peeking. All in all it was very quiet. Not even the sound of the waterfall in the background today. The highlight for me was when Todd's mom Donna, paid me a visit. I welcome your support Donna, and I thank you for coming. Donna Eckert is from Prince George for those unaware. Look forward to seeing you at the candle light vigil. It was very nice that we had the opportunity to reflect upon our trials and tribulations, and to reaffirm our belief in a brighter tomorrow for our children's sake. Together we can all make a difference. |
Ground Zero: Day 32, Thursday, Sept.25/02: Greetings everyone. Tonight we held our "Public Candle Light Vigil". in support of "Equal Parenting Week". Thank you to everyone who turned out, and thank you to all those who helped to make this annual event a success. I counted about 36 people, including those that joined in from the general public. CTV news was on hand to capture the moment Bravo everyone for a job well done. Nice to see everyone in their colors as well. We certainly got the attention of all who happened to venture near. Let's continue to rocknroll. Delivering the message that the best parent is both parents. |
Ground Zero: Day 33, Friday, Sept.27/02: Greetings everyone, annother hot sunny day out on the West coast.d . One gentleman leaving the court house, upon seeing me, removed his grey sweater to reveal his yellow t-shirt. He looked at me and said,"I wore it for luck". "Cool". He also asked if I had a petition to sign. I met another gentleman by the name of Mike, a tall ,rugged, and serious looking dude. I discovered that he has been paying spousal support of $300.00 a month since 1989, to his drug addicted ex wife for whom he has no children with. Apparently the F.M.E.P. have been garnishing his wages for $800.00 a month for some time now, to insure his junkie ex gets her fix. I also learned that he too is a man who has been physically abused by his ex wife on a regular basis. He showed me where she stabbed him, also where she hit him with a hammer, his front teeth were knocked out from another confrontation with her. You would not believe the horror stories I discovered. He even phoned 911 one time after she attempted to strangle him with a phone cord, while he slept, just to be arrested and incarcerated for his efforts. As he put it, she has taken everything he has, and abused him as well, just to be jailed for his troubles As always my trip home was not without incidentr. A black F-150 flew along side of me on the Mary Hill bypass. A young gentleman in his mid twenties rolled down his window and asked if I was the guy who was fighting to see his daughter. My reputation must proceed me. I told him I indeed was. |
Ground Zero: Day 34,Friday, October 11/02, Greetings everyone, found myself, bright and early, driving out to North Vancouver to meet up with Manfred Weber and David Millar. From there we found ourselves in Vancouver Supreme court, lending our support and voices to aid Curtis Defer's appeal hearing. Curtis was up against three State hired guns. How things will turn out is yet to bve seen. However our corrupt legal system being what it is, I am not hopeful. It was very evident that Master Donaldson, wanted nothing to do with the case. Curtis hammered the points of law home with complete confidence and knowledge. It was also evident that having Manfred, David and myself (of course with my Fathers For Justice t-shirt on), was distracting the parasites (attorneys), and Master Donaldson,as was evident by the glares we received. During the lunch break, while in the Supreme court Law Library, my rebellious nature got the better of me. I just could not resist. In the Law Library there are many computers for those within to use. All with internet asccess. To make a long story short upon leaving I took it upon myself to leave several of them open to my web site. Each computer open to a different page. I can only imagine how this was received. When all was said and done and we were leaving, Manfred engaged himself in a heated debate with the family advocate, the attorney Generals liar suggesting the need for security. Manfred was right on the money. The family advocate lawyer then looked to me thinking perhaps I may be more gentle in my approach. Boy, was he ever wrong on that call. I told him that it was because of parasites such as himself, that many children are without loving, and nuturing relationships with their fathers. He then told me that he was neutral and their on behalf of the "best interests of the child". I said, "Excuse me"!! I then informed him that I was in that court room all day and that not once did I hear him say, "Your Honor, Mr Defer has not seen his son in 5 months and this can certainly not be in the best interests of his child ", not once, I again said. In leaving I informed him that he was an embarrasment to his gender . |
