Whole Meal Cafe opened in May 1978 - run by three people who wanted to have a complete career change and work for an environment friendly cause. After a short while the cafe became successful, a drinks license was obtained and we started opening both lunch and dinner.
David was now the only one left from the original three, and he then asked Kim who was at Catering College in London if he would help out, and he soon became a big influence introducing many dishes from his native Thailand.
At the end of 2001 David thought it was time to take a break from the cafe after 24 years service and Kim became the proud owner the Whole Meal Cafe, and he is still faithful to the original philosophy of no meat, fish, fowl, or products of slaughter will be used in the cooking at any time.
The cafe has been thought of by many as a sanctuary away the hassle and bussle of South London and a great asset to the local community, as well as being one of the few vegetarian catering places still available in South London.
