I had not originally intended to keep a puppy out of this repeat breeding, but when the puppies were old enough to be aware of their surroundings, Pirate chose me. I had recently lost my father, and I guess Pirate sensed a need in me and he responded. Out of all the puppies, he was the one who wanted only for me to hold him, not to jump and play and be silly, or to bark and chew and run with the others. He quickly made me love him, and so I decided to keep him no matter what. He has a maturity about him that belies his age, altho he is starting to act more like a dog and less like my third arm. I think he is maturing nicely and will give him a try in the showring, at earthdog trials, and maybe even obedience if I have the energy. The reason for the name Pirate is not only the obvious (see his pictures) but because he literally stole a chunk of my heart against my will. His full name is a Japanese anime tv show which centers around space pirates (Outlaw Star). He has only been to one fun match, and since I didn't feel well my husband, who is not a show person, handled him for me. I told him to keep it light and fun and so Pirate spent the whole time trying to either jump on the other puppies or spin in circles. He won 3rd place out of 4 entries. At least he had fun! Now we're off to try the real thing....... |

Much easier than actually getting off the couch to go to the water bowl. |

A little bit of free stacking. His coat is very different from Jovi's, and I'm still learning proper Smoothie grooming. 4 months old. |

Pirate is the sweetest, snuggliest Foxy I've ever known. I think he may spoil us. Shown here giving my daughter Talitha a kiss while she plays video games. |

Pirate D'Pirate, what we call him. Altho not accurate, it means Pirate the pirate. |

Once Jovi realized that Pirate was comandeering alot of "mommy time", she started hanging on me as well, to insure her fair share. Here they are both trying to sleep on my lap while I'm sitting in a chair, it was a tight fit! |
