My Proposal
I'm sure every man is at a loss for what to do
to propose marriage. You can't just walk up to her and ask her,
right? You have to do something that has you written all over it. Not
only that, you must do something the two of you will never forget. I
thought about this for quite some time. I knew Donna and I were going
to get married eventually, but I didn't know when, I didn't know how
to ask her, and I surely didn't know how to tell her parents and
everyone else. So I basically let things happen. How I came up with
the airplane idea was over a year before I had been working on Jekyll
Island as a home health aide while I went to school. I had to pass
the Jekyll Island airport almost every day. I would often see the
planes take off and land. It always looked like so much fun. At the
time I had never flown at all. I later found out that Donna hadn't
either. She said she always wanted to take a hot air balloon ride. I
could not find any near enough to drive and be back in the same day,
so I started thinking about the airplane ride. I finally called, and
it was $60 to take 1-3 people. It was very steep, but I really wanted
to do it. I was also a little nervous. I reasoned that I had a better
chance of survival if the plane crashed over the ocean than into
trees or some building.
