Uh oh I knew there had to be a catch to this.
"What?"
"If you like me. Will you sign me?"
"Ohhh I see what this was all about."
"Well you could convince Mr. Philips. Your his secretary."
I smiled.
"Alright. I'll see what I can do."
He stood up and looked satisfied.
"I'll see you there Julie. Be there at 10:30."
He grabbed his stuff off the couch and waved to me before he left. I sat back in my chair. What had I gotton myself into?
********************************************************************************************************************************
All week I had been thinking about Greg's show. More importanly on ways to convince Mr. Philips to sign Greg. I got to the Improv about 10:20. I walked into the clun and looked around for Greg. Since I couldn't see him I figured I would get a drink. I needed something to calm my nerves. After taking a few sips I looked at my watch and saw that it was 10:30. I paid for my drink and went to go find Greg. I sat down at one of the tables and waited.
"Julie?"
I turned around and saw Greg standing there.
"Hi."
He took a seat next to me and pulled out a cigarette.
"Did you bring the papers?" he asked
"Yes. I have them."
He smiled.
"Don't worry  Julie. You won't be dissapointed.
He winked at me and then looked at his watch.
"Ok Greg."
He stood up and walked through a door that I assumed was the stage door. I waited for a while until the lights turned down and a man walked out on stage with a microphone in hand. I got my papers out as Greg walked out on stage. He had a huge smile on his face.
"Good to be here Ladies and Gentlemen. I'm from Los Angeles or Low Cal if you will. I spend a lot of time in England and you know England is not a really kicking place to go if you want full on screming mexican food. Who knew? I think it has something to do with the way they pronounce it. Would you like an enchelaaaada?"
I don't really rmember the rest of the show. I remember laughing so hard I cried. The show was absolutley wonderful. After the show everyone walked out but I stayed and waited for Greg. He finally came out of the stage door and looked exausted.
"Greg that was wonderful."
His eyes opened wide and he smiled.
"I told you you wouldn't be dissapointed."
"Well I'm not disapointed at all."
He sat down at the table and waited.
"So?"
I pushed the papers in front of him.
"Welcome to John Philips Talent Agency."
He looked at me and smiled.
"Serious?"
I nodded my head.
"Yes. I'm serious."
Greg smiled and his face lit up. He signed the papers and smiled.
"Thank you so much Julie."
"No problem. But if I get in trouble it's your fault."
"Alright. Deal."
He shook my hand before he stood up.
"I'll be calling you on Monday to set up an appoinment."
"Thank you."
"Your welcome."
He walked out the door and I took another sip of my drink. i fished my cell phone out of my purse and dialed Mr. Philips number. The phone rang and I ran my hands over the drink stains on the table.
"Hello?"
"Umm Mr. Philips. Hi, It's Julie Tennison."
