It’s that time of year-

AIMS testing is here!

Arizona’s state test is the AIMS (Arizona’s Instrument to Measure Standards), and will be given Monday through Friday, April 9-13th. On Monday, students will complete the Writing section. We will be testing the Math and Reading sections, Tuesday through Thursday. On Friday, we will complete the Science Field test. There is no time limit, but the tests will not take all day long. Although, each section that is started 0needs to be finished by the end of the day it is given. If possible, please reschedule appointments for another week. Students may bring one “good luck charm” to keep on the corner of their desks during the test. Nothing too big.

Please help at home by making sure your child…

· gets a good night’s sleep

· eats a healthy breakfast

· thinks positively

· take his/her time

· understands this test doesn’t affect his/her grades or going on to the fifth grade

· does the best he/she can do

Who said testing week can’t also be fun? We’ll be having a theme for each day of testing!

Monday: Any healthy snack and drink

Tuesday: Intelligence games

Wednesday: Meet with first grade buddies

Thursday: Something sweet for a treat

Friday: We will celebrate with a treat that I will be bringing on Friday!
