Self Releases
Heavenly Hosts Doves does not sell or rent birds for self release. Our reasons are very simple. Some of them are listed in the following reasons:

You receive the birds on friday morning from the postal service, and it's 90 in the shade. Your wedding is saturday afternoon. What do you do with them? They are hungry and thirsty. What do you feed them? How do you water them? (Dead birds don't fly). OOPS! You openned the box and some of them got away!

Do you release them out of that nice postal box? NO! Do you decorate an ordinary file box? Maybe. Do you go and buy a $50.00 wicker basket, have to paint it, (they're out of white ones), buy $50.00 worth of silk flowers to decorate it? Maybe. You still have to get the birds from the box into the basket, without losing any.

Will your birds fly? If their not trained they could stay in the basket, then fly a few feet onto you or your guests, land on any building or tree near you. They could fly and land on the ground in front of you and your guests. This would take away from the beautiful effect of the flock of white doves circling above you should expect.

What is the greenish color on their bellies. That's from sitting in their droppings for days. Not exactly pleasing to see.

It's time to release. Does your photographer know what to expect? Do you have the basket set up for the best effect?

What is the total cost? After the bird rental, shipping charges, release basket and flowers you probably paid as much or more for your release than the cost of a competent professional. Did you get the release you wanted?
