Committee volunteers are needed –

Ø       Cynthia Lawson will chair the Education Committee,

Ø       Jayne Mickas will chair the Fundraising Committee and

Ø       Sissi Smithhart will chair the Scholarship Committee.

Ø       Trish Beckman has volunteered to chair the Outreach Committee

Ø       Rene Hershberger volunteered to chair the Speaker Committee with Vera Martinovich and Gaylen Wright helping.

A suggestion for future meetings is to have the committee chair/head give a brief report to our group.  They can meet outside of our monthly meeting and only spend a brief time reporting on progress.  Gaylen will send out an announcement with the next mass emailing – announcing committee chairs along with email addresses for anyone interested in participating on a committee.  An announcement will also be made on the winner of the International WIA Conference certificate [3/11- 3/13 2004],

Trish discussed briefly the March Women Fly event and asked for volunteers to sponsor a youth.  An announcement will go to the group requesting volunteers to contact Trish at patricia.L.beckman@boeing.com if interested in a $5.00 donation to sponsor a youth to attend this event.  They are also looking for mentors for the Friday Youth Program (3/19).  Contact Trish or Leslie Barstow lbarstow@hotmail.com.

Jayne presented the Outlines for Educational Committee that she has offered to the committee.  Motion was made by Jayne to purchase a recorder and record meetings, Leslie seconded this and all were in favor.

Leslie Barstow discussed a new high school devoted to aviation.  This will open at Boeing Field and its one of a kind.  They are in the process of recruiting 8th graders now.  This is a public school, and hopes to open in the fall (2004) with 100 students.
