Abbreviated introduction and Happy Bucks

Minutes from October were read and approved as amended.  James will post the past minutes on the website soon.

Treasurer’s report was given by Laina Reeves.  Her current report states that we have approximately $3608 in our account.  This was from fundraising of chocolate airplanes, jewelry, happy bucks and conference rebates.  It is in our bylaws that we have 2 signatories on our account, we need to update those to include the current executive committee members.

Years-end account is due soon (for the period 7/1/04-12/31/04).  Laina will provide a summary level report with income and expenses listed in order or size.

Bylaw changes

Jana Young is still working on getting us the bylaw changes.  These need to be provided for our annual report.

December Holiday Party – Laina will send James directions and information on what to put out for the party.  In the past we have had 20 to 25 people at the party, and it was suggested that each person bring horse devours for 10 people – that way there would be enough for constitute a meal.  Leslie will make a vegetable flower presentation.  Jana has volunteered to provide the Airplane Monopoly game, but will be out of town for the party.

We need additional volunteers for the Holiday party, contact Laina to be a part of it.

Outreach

NW Aviation trade show this year's theme is education.  A suggestion was made that perhaps we could do a presentation.  No final decisions were made for our presentation.  Laina has an airplane model that is a little unusual, so we may use that to have a contest to see who can identify it.

WE NEED VOLUNTEERS for the NW Aviation trade show!  We have members in the south sound that need to be contacted and ask to help out.  This would be a great way for them to participate since they live so close.  We will, among others, two greeters from open till close – which is maybe 9am until 4pm?  We will put out a signup sheet at the holiday party.

Scheduling

James will be scheduling the meetings for January, February, and March.  It was decided that March’s meeting should be on the 5th, giving us time to prepare any last minute items for both Women Fly and WIAI conference in Dallas the following weekend.  February’s meeting should be on the 19th, also to finalize events for the NW Aviation Trade Show in Puyallup the following weekend.  January’s meeting is not time critical, so we will try either the 15th or the 22nd, and perhaps have it in Everett and maybe a Boeing plant tour to follow.

Mentoring

Last month’s meeting, Jayne passed out a contact sheet and attempt was made to contact four that had signed up.  So far, no replies have been received from those individuals.  It was mentioned that out of 10 contacts, we typically may have only one reply.

Scholarship 2005

Patti has volunteered to be a reader for our scholarship.

Discussion for December party was brought up and suggestions were pizza and aviation monopoly, a hanger party.  Laina Reeves graciously offered her house for this year’s holiday party.  The get together is scheduled for December 11 2004.  BYOB, appetizers, prizes for aviation trivia knowledge.  Spouses and friends are welcome.  Directions to be sent out at a later date.

Fundraising

Jayne made contact with Alaska Airlines to inquire about ticket donations, but we will have to wait to hear back from her on this.

We have emailed Rochelle Oslick about hosting another Pampered Chef event.

December meeting/social date is: December 11, 2004 at Laina Reeve’s house, details TBA.

Need elections for absent Recording Secretary.

Meeting adjourned 12:30pm
