Introduction round robin and
Happy Bucks
Minutes from
September were read and approved. Minutes were approved for posting on
our web site by the executive committee.
Treasurer’s report was given by Laina Reeves. Her current report states that we
have $3624.50 in our account. This was from fundraising of
chocolate airplanes, jewelry, happy bucks and conference rebates.
Years-end account is due soon (for the period
7/1/04-12/31/04) since we have changed our chapter yearly calendar.
Since the book keeping of jewelry and other items is difficult to track
financially and inventory wise it was suggested that we have several receipt
booklets that have carbon copy’s in them so we can keep better track as items
are donated.
Bylaw changes
Jana Young has reviewed our
bylaws and handed out suggested changes. Changes were minor and after
review the motion was passed to approve the changes.
Leslie
Barstow to hand out our flyers to give out as well as printing more membership
applications and distributing them.
Also, distribute fly quiet flyer for our November meeting.
Outreach
Women Fly at museum of flight
did not change the program date that conflicts with our WIA Conference.
We need to coordinate with them in 2005 to avoid this in the future.
NW Aviation trade show this year's theme is education. A
suggestion was made that perhaps we could do a presentation. No final
decisions were made for our presentation.
Tricia Beckman mentioned that
we need to list one outreach program on our year end chapter report and it was
decided that the Bremerton Black Berry festival was the only potential
qualifier for our short yearly report.
Request was made to at least
inform members of our meeting schedules two months in advance. Currently we are
scheduled through December with dates and times to be posted on our web site.
Our current program for fly
quite in November is to be held at Museum of flight after our executive
meeting. We need all our members to advertise this so as to have a good
turn out for our speaker. Possible suggestions were to contact WPA WSDOT
and Scott gardener from the FAA to pass the word around. In addition we
can email many of the Ninety Nines.
Correspondence Sec Sissi
Smithhart reported that to date we have 38 members
from our distribution list that have joined our new yahoo web based message
board. We will be requesting a current WA State members list from international
and will be sending out post cards to ask folks to update their information and
to join our new group email list.
Discussion for December party
was brought up and suggestions were pizza and aviation monopoly, a hanger
party. Laina Reeves graciously offered her house for this year’s holiday
party. The get together is scheduled for December 11 2004. BYOB,
appetizers, prizes for aviation trivia knowledge. Spouses and friends are
welcome. Directions to be sent out at a later date.
Fundraising
Jayne Mickas reported Mt
Baker High School is also looking for mentors. This school is located in
the Bellingham area - contact Jayne for more information.
Jayne is also looking to
Alaska Airlines to donate tickets for our fundraising. We will raffle
them off at for a specific time period for a currently undetermined amount.
Jayne will up date us at a future date weather this is a viable
possibility. Also an aviation gift basket could be raffled off at the NW
aviation trade show.
Another option is to send out
a donation invitations to all our WA WIA members.
We are also checking with Rochelle
Oslick about hosting another Pampered Chef event.
November’s meeting date is:
November 20, 2004 at 11:00am, 2nd floor Board Room at the Museum of
Flight.
December meeting/social date
is: December 11, 2004 at Laina Reeve’s house, details TBA.
Need elections for absent Recording
Secretary.
Meeting adjourned 12:30pm
Minutes submitted by Sissi
Smithhart.
