To me, dance and meditation are one and the same. Everyone should practice both on a regular basis for total body and spiritual health. It is only when you can quiet the voices inside you that you can start to hear the universe speak. Everyone practices meditation differently. Some sit in a yogi position with their fingers touching, like Buddha. This is an optimal position for letting energy flow through your body. Some people like to lie down on the floor or bed, and just go into a hypnotic sleep-like state. Any way you do it, the key is to let every part of your body relax, and just stop thinking. Stop the string of thoughts going through your head. Seem hard? Some people use a tool, such as a candle to stare at. This can be very helpful, not to mention hypnotic. When you start to meditate on a regular basis, you will be more energized, but in a relaxed and not anxious state, and you will be more open to things like astral projection, spirit communication, and psychic abilities. On the subject of dance, I cannot beam enough about the benefits of daily dance. Not certain steps, carefully choreographed, but raw, tribal, pure soulful dance. A dance where you just let yourself go. Just give yourself over to the beat. I highly recommend reading "Sweat your Prayers" by Gabrielle Roth. A lot of Wiccans ever consider dance a very important part of magic and ritual.
