Lesson
More Divination

I have given alot of though as to where to go with these lessons
next.  There are so many different forms of divination that you could have fun with.

The two methods I would like to discuss today are (1) Gypsy dice throwing and (2) Crystal Gazing.

Before we go into the heart of the lesson, I would like to talk about common sense and fortunetellers/witches/etc.

Many years ago, when I was quite inexperienced, I went to a fair for a company picnic.  One of the many booths was for palm reading for $2.  Wow! I thought this was so cool, so I went in.  There was this old woman who would be reading my palm.  She claimed to be a gypsy and a witch.  Well she read my palm and told me all sorts of things...even things that weren't very good.  Before I knew it, she said I needed her to light a candle for me for $20 to send positive things my way.  Dumb and foolish me gave her the money.  Then, she KNEW she had me hooked.  I gave her my phone number and I was to travel to her home by bus where her husband would pick me up because I had some kind of curse on me and she could get rid of it.

FYI - I never did go to her home.  She kept on me like the plague and I realized that there was something very wrong with this scenario.  Sure enough, I started hearing about poor innocent folks who were being bilked for thousands of dollars to have curses removed for them as well as other services.

Lesson 1:  NEVER THINK ANYONE HAS MORE POWER THAN YOU!

What we are learning in this school is to take charge of our own lives.  If you learn nothing else from me learn this...no one can straighten out circumstances in your life better than you.  NEVER give your power away to someone else.  If you do...you will be leaving yourself wide open for every con-man out there to get there hands on your hard earned money OR WORSE!

Lesson 2:  LIGHT YOUR OWN CANDLES!

If someone offers to light a candle for you to send positive energy your way, there should be NO charge for it.  It is a gift and should be given freely.  Also, you can buy your own candles dirt cheep, learn your color correspondences, say your own prayers and light your own matches.  IT WILL WORK JUST AS WELL IF NOT BETTER!  Got it?

And remember the threefold law, whatever you do, for good or for ill, will come back to you threefold, so as you receive, freely give, and be blessed by our divine mother.  And...when someone does you a good turn, go and bless 3 others as well.

Method 1:  Gypsy Dice Throwing

There is more than one method for doing this, but I wanted to share this simple method with you.  It's alot of fun and you can do it at parties too.

You will need 3 dice and a black cloth with a circle on it.  You can just draw a circle on the ground if you are outside, but it should be about 1 foot to a foot and a half in diameter.

You will hold the dice and concentrate on them, then toss them into the circle.  Disregard whatever rolls out of the circle.  If they all roll out, throw them again.  If they all roll out a second time, no reading is possible for that day.

You add up the total on the dice and interpret them as follows:

One - Loneliness; loss.
Two - Love or infatuation.
Three - A pleasant surprise is coming.
Four - An unpleasant surprise.
Five - You will meet with a stranger who will have a strong influence
on you.
Six - You will lose something of value to you.
Seven - There will be a scandal involving you.
Eight - A wrong that you did in the past will catch up with you.
Nine - There is a wedding in the near future.
Ten - Business advancement.
Eleven - The death of someone you know.
Twelve - You will soon receive a letter of some importance.
Thirteen - There will be cause for you to weep.
Fourteen - A new admirer.
Fifteen - Be especially cautious; trouble threatens.
Sixteen - A happy journey.
Seventeen - Profitable business is coming to you from across water.
Eighteen - Some very great godd is coming to you.

Method 2:  Crystal Gazing

Scrying: The ancient art of clairvoyance achieved by concentrating on an object - usually one with a reflective or semi-reflective surface (mirror, crystal ball, water, etc.) - until visions appear. Magicians and witches of all ages have practiced scrying. The term scrying comes from the English word descry , which means 'to make out dimly' or 'to reveal.' The services of the scryer typically are sought for predictions of the future, answers to questions and tracking down criminals, just to name a few.

Crystal gazing has been a method of divination for centuries, and before the crystal was used, water scrying was popular.  Have you ever tossed a coin into a well, fountain, or lake and counted the
ripples to see what it might fortell?  Usually done with yes and no questions if the number of ripples from the toss was an odd number then the answer was no and if it was an even number then the answer was yes.

Then some would just gaze into a body of water to see what images might form to receive answers to their most perplexing questions.
This was also done with cloud gazing...seeing what symbols the clouds would create and the same would be done with tea leaf reading.

To use a crystal ball sit in a comfortable position and breathe
deeply to the count of four, then hold the breath until the count of four and finally release to the count of four. Repeat this until you feel your body has relaxed enough to give your full concentration to the crystal. Have only one candle lit behind the crystal and some sandalwood or wormwood incense burning.

Try to clear your mind of all thoughts and stare into the ball in a meditative state. Continue this for about ten minutes. If any images appear to you in the ball, immediately write them down and interpret them as you would a dream. In time and practice, one can see images of the present, past or future, much like that of a television screen projecting before you.

Well that's enough to keep you busy for a spell.  LOL!  Continue to try to find sources of symbols.  Search the web, books on various divination subjects, including Buckland's book named above.  There is a complete list of symbols he describes for tea leaf reading.  Get creative and really enjoy this.

Until next time.
