| Only cast spells that you fully understand and are comfortable with Make sure you have enough time to complete the spell without rushing Find a quiet place where you will not be disturbed, turn off the radio, unplug the phone and remove anything else that may distract you from your work. Start with a positive attitude, if you bleieve that the spell will work and believe in your purpose for casting the spell you will achieve better results. Meditiate or do something that will clear your mind before you begin. Once you begin the spell do not stop until it is fully compleated Read over the spell several times before you cast so that you know exactally what your doing. It is also better to memorize what to do and say so you don't have to stop to read from the paper. Gather all the items yoube using for your spell, such as candles, incense, herbs etc., and empower these items SPELLS THAT YOU WRITE YOURSELF WORK BEST - If your going to cast a spell that was written by somebody else you should always add your own personal touch. |

| Basic Outline For Spell Writing |

| Ritual Preparation 1.)Define the goal of the ritual: 2.)Decide when and where you will work your magick, keeping in mind lunar phases and days of the week: 3.)Find or create an appropriate chant for the spell (a simple rhyme will do): 4.)If you will be invoking a god or goddess, decide on which one and write out any special prayers that you will use to call that diety. (For example, if you were calling Hecate, you could simply say "Hecate, Dark Goddess, I call thee!"): 5.)Plan how you will visualize your goal in your mind. Describe it: 6.)Decide on any correspondences, such as herbs, colors, elements, that you want in your ritual. Write these down and decide on how to include them in the ritual. Example: "Water would be appropriate for this ritual, so I will have a bowl of water on my altar". Your correspondences: Cleanse yourself and your magickal space. You may also wish to say some prayers at this time. Statement of purpose This is to tell the Divine why you have called Him/Her to the circle. Magickal Working Raise energy, through whatever means you have chosen to do so. Direct or channel this energy by using the correspondences (herbs, colours, elements etc.) you found to fit your needs. Sings, dance, charge stones, chant or anything else you choose. Ground your energy when you have completed the working. Cakes and Wine This can be done before or after you close your circle. I like to do it before and leave some for the dieties present as a sign of respect and my thinks. Thanking the Divine Before you close your circle and end your magickal workings it is important to thank all the dieties that have been with you during your work. Closing the Circle Ending with "So mote it be" or "This is my will" brings a sense of closure to your magickal workings as well helps to add confidence to you work. |
