| Lake of Dreams As you come out of the tunnel You see an enourmus lake with water as clear as glass. You walk up to the shores and slowly wade into the shallows. The water feels sun-warmed yet cool at the same time. You look up at the sky and clouds and you are amazed at the beauty of it... Some thing tickles your feet... You look down to see tiny fish nibbling at them. You look around and see a medow full of flowers. The mountains around you must be a barrier you think to your self. You look back at the lake and see a large shadow swimng torwards you. As the "thing" reaches shallow water you see a blue tail surface the water soon the creature pull itself up and you realize it is a mermaid. Looking behind the mermaid. you see a larger shadow in the water. A large head of a dragon comes to the surface of the water. "Welcome stranger to the Lake of Dreams... It is my home and to my dragon Shining Ripple.. she looks fondly at the dragon and strokes its eye ridges. Ripple emits a sort of deep purr in his throat. Hello traveler, I do not see many humans in these parts, what brings you here? Ripple gives you a puzzled look. "I sort of just wandered in and found that Durma as a whole was bigger than I expected." Oh yes, Meiryll has told me of the many creatures that dwell here. As you listen to the dragon speak it seems like you are talking to one with great intelect of the world, but then again This color of dragon ponders the world as a living. You look back and see the large dragon playing a sort of water "tag" with Meiryll. You watch each creature as they glide in the water. It is almost as if they fly. Leaving them to there play you look around at the surroundings. You see a small forest of huge sycamores and a small field of wild flowers. At the other end of the lake you see a large stone slab with the remains of a larger nest and a smaller nest with a black egg beside it. You look at the egg more carefully and see that it is slightly rocking. You run torwards the shore to tell Meiryll and Ripple what is happening. When you get there you see no shadows in the water you look to where the stone slab was and see Ripple laying near the egg. Walking slowly torwards the dragon you wonder what creature will emerge from the egg. As you reach the slab Ripple turns his head and says, Quiet the birth of a friend is about to happen. He starts nudging the egg, then lets it rock on its own. After rocking for a few minutes there is a large crack down the middle, soon a white head pops out. Ripple strokes the hatchling with his nose, the creature chirps. "What is it?" you ask breaking the silence. It is a Chesmu, a new "pet" from RoseCaverns. They are supposed to adapt to any climate. So I hope it likes water! Ripple gives you a toothy grin. You walk up to the Chesmu and lightly stroke its head with you fore finger, it hums with delight. Wanting to visit more of Durma you bid Ripple, Meiryll, and the Chesmu Shining Star good bye. They wish you good travels and would welcome you back if you decide to visit Durma again. You turn around and find the dragon splashing merrily in the water, He notices you and smiles. You smile back at Ripple and walk off. |
