Colcannon
Colcannon is traditionally served at Samhain and is used as a divination device. The person who gets the Thimble will be single or a laborer, the button; a bachelor, the ring-foretells a marriage, and the coin-indicates prosperity.

Ingredients:
4 cups boiled, mashed, fresh potatoes (NO BOXED POTATOES OR IT WON"T WORK!)
2 1/2 cups cabbage, cooked, and chopped fine
1/2 cup butter
1/2 cup cream (heavy whipping cream)
3/4 cup onion, chopped, and sauteed
1/4 teaspoon sea salt
1/8 teaspoon white pepper

A thimble
A button
A ring
A Clean coin
A few sprigs of fresh parsley to garnish.

Place all ingredients in a large pan EXCEPT for the cabbage, the thimble, the button, the ring and the coin. Cook over low heat while blending them together. Turn heat to medium and add the cabbage, stir occasionally until the mixture is warm enough to eat. Lastly, drop in the thimble, button, ring and coin. Garnish with Parsley and serve.
