Background: This holiday is a fire festivle, which is dedicated to Brigid, the goddess of fire, or sometimes to the element of fire itself. Imbolc marks a time when inspiration begins to flow. Orange candle, anointed with musk, cinnamon, or rosemary oil are place along with grain or corn dollies and sunwheels on the altar. Traditional Foods: Seeds, dairy, bread, cake, peppers, curry, onoins, leeks, honey, garlic, and herbal teas. Herbs and Flowers: angelica, bay, benzoin, celandine, heather, myrrh, snowdrops, rowan, and all yellow flowers. |
