Meditation is a very powerful tool in witchcraft, and magick. Meditation is the process of closing the mind to all external stimuli, and focus ing on the inner being. Meditation alters the state of consciousness, which is important in working magick. Not only do most witch use meditation of commune with their Inner Self, but most use meditation to contact spirit guides, the Divine, the Elementals and so much more. Meditation is a great form of relaxion. Most find that once they begin meditating regularly they are more tolerable, more tolerant and patient, feel more condifdent, and are less prone to illness. Since most diseases are caused by stress and a dis-ease of some sort, attuning the physical, the emotional, the spiritual, and the psychic together in the same body, so to speak, provides a relaxed being. This relaxed being is no longer such a subject to those harmful factors. In order to meditate accurately, you need to know how to breath correctly. Try these breathing excercises: Exercise #1 Lay flat on the floor and place a book on your belly area. Take deep breaths in and out. It should rise up as you inhale and fall as you exhale. Excercise #2 Sit tall and and open your rib cage. Leaving it open, inhale deeply using your diaphragm. Your stomach come in and out. Warning: this excercise requires a lot of stamina. At first you may tire quickly. If this is the case, take a break and try again. Using this deep breath, open rib cage breathing will make future meditations much easier to accomphish.
