Originaly, this dress was a medieval dress. But after discovering Middle-Earth, I realised it could double as an elf-maiden gown. Dressed like this, I'm ready to go play in the woods around Rivendell.
Fabric
I found this wonderful lilac summer polyester fabric that looks a bit woven.
The trim is of white with golden edges.
The belt is a piece of satin cord simply tied a bit to the side.
Pattern
As a base, I used McCall’s 9083 view A. I the lengthend and widened the skirt and modified the sleeves to make them wide and pointed.
Advice
When fabric tends to fray, serge your seems. |
