Inspired by the first two Harry Potter movies, I decided to make myself a witch robe. I’m not fully satisfied with it: the hood is way too big and the sleeves are a bit too long. But as a first try, it’s pretty ressemblant, considering there are not many good pictures of it. A Harry Potter costume would no be complete without the perfect wand. I got mine at Charme & Sortilège, a Montreal magick boutique. Fabric Stretchy black cotton that I pre-washed and pre-shrunk. I bought a cord clasp to close the fron of the robe. Pattern I used McCall’s 4340 view A as a base. I made the robe and sleeves narrower and shorter. For the hood, I made it much larger so I could get the pleat effect in the front. Advice When trying to serge many thicknesses of babric together, make sure you’re using a strong enough needle. |
