| Most witches you alot of materials and tools that are common and natural resources that the earth provides for us. Gems and stones are among these magickal elements and tools. When using gems and stones in magickal workings remember to always cleanse, consecrate and empower these stones before using them. If you are going to cleanse them, use a water and salt ritual. To consecrate, dedicate the stone to the magickal purpose and anoint it with the proper oil. To empower the gem or stone, let it stand in the light of the full moon, then remove it before the sun rises. The gem or stone will absorb the powers the moon offers. Do you need the biggest gem or stone? No.....as a matter of fact, size is not important. What matters is the gem or stone's vibration. As long as it has the positive vibration for what you need it to do, then you are all set. You will know if it has by holding and feeling it. It will give off a tingly, warm feeling in your hands or fingers. With time and intuition you will know if the stone is the right one.. How does it work? Well, for one, the person has to carry or keep it with them for the magickal properties to work. Keep it in your pocket, in a amulet bag or worn as a necklace or in your purse.
