Names, Law of: “Knowing the complete and true name of an object, being or process gives one complete control over it.” Natural Law: A sequence of events in nature that has been observed to occur without variation under the same conditions. Natural law is the basis of the experimental method in science, and is dependent upon cause and effect. Nature Spirits – Many spirits are of this nature. They are elementals, faeries, etc. Any spirit found in any other plane which can also be found in the physical world, such as a wolf or bear spirit. Necromancer: A magician and psychic who specializes in “summoning” the spirits of dead persons, usually without possession, in order to gain both occult and mundane knowledge, which is then used for thaumaturgical, theurgical and nonmagical purposes. (2) Generally, anyone who does any form of divination involving the dead. See Medium. Necromancy: A magickal practice in which one deals with the dead. Necronomicon A pseudo-Grimoire. The notion of such a book was made by H.P. Lovecraft in fictional writing, but an unknown author wrote it and some people today still believe it is a valid source of occult information. Negapsi or Reversing: An antipsi ability to reverse all or part of the information content of a psi broadcast or field. Negativity – An energetic force that breaks the means by which one merges (usually meditation) and feeds upon itself. Associated with the Dark One(s). See also "Positivity". Neopaganism or Neo-Paganism: A general term for a variety of movements both organized and (usually) nonorganized, started since 1960 C.E. or so (though they had literary roots going back to the mid-1800’s), as attempts to recreate, revive or continue what their founders thought were the best aspects of the Paleopagan ways of their ancestors (or predecessors), blended with modern humanistic, pluralist and inclusionary ideals, while consciously striving to eliminate as much as possible of the traditional Western monotheism, dualism, and puritanism. The core Neopagan beliefs include a multiplicity of deities of all genders, a perception of those deities as both immanent and transcendent, a commitment to environmental awareness, and a willingness to perform magical as well as spiritual rituals to help both ourselves and others. Examples of Neopaganism would include the Church of All Worlds, most heterodox Wiccan traditions, Druidism as practiced by Ár nDraíocht Féin and the Henge of Keltria, some Norse Paganism, and some modern forms of Buddhism whose members refer to themselves as “Buddheo-Pagans.” Neopagan belief systems are not racist, sexist, homophobic, etc. There are hundreds of thousands of Neopagans living and worshiping their deities today. As “Neo-Paganism,” this term was popularized in the 1960’s and 1970’s by Oberon Zell, a founder of the Church of All Worlds. New-Pagan". This term denotes any modern-day Pagan practitioner. Many Neo-Pagan practices and beliefs, of course, have their roots in ancient Pagan cultural beliefs. Neophyte - A newcomer to the Pagan Path. These are those interested in learning about the Craft. Those whom have been accepted by a coven, but have not yet completed their traditional one year and one day of study to become a full member of that coven. This is the vital step on your Pagan Path. " Neo-Shamanism - "New-Shamanism". Many forms of modern shamanism exist, but they have roots, of course, in ancient Shamanic practices. New Age The modern movement which involves combining metaphysical concepts with the practice of an organized religion. Nine Maidens The : These are the Nine laws of Metaphysics. Examples would include “Morgan’s Tarot,” “The Illuminated Tarot,” etc. Nervous System: The bodily system made up of nerves, senses, and brain, including all connectors such as the spinal cord. Numerology: Divination by means of numbers and numerical “values” of letters. |
