The Wiccan Rede "An it harm none, do as ye will" is a very noble goal, but let's face it, we are all only human, and IMO "harming none" is impossible - especially since the Rede applies to not only actions, but also thoughts and words. Think about that one a minute - this means then that you thinking the guy you are stuck behind at the traffic lights is “less than favourable” for holding you up, is therefore a form of harm!!! Kind of gives you a whole new perspective on the Rede, doesn't it? I personally find the fluff bunnies who spout all the "white light and only do good" deeds are full of it...they are usually the most hypocritical types and the ones that kind of work on a "do as I say, not as I do" basis... ie, it's okay for them to tell YOU not to think negative thoughts at someone, but if you try to tell them not to, look out! This leads me to my opinion on working with either light or darkness. |
