Amphoe Muang :
Hot Springs and Raksawarin Arboretum : are near Wat Tapotharam
two kilometers east of Ranong township along Chon ra-u road . The temperature of the water is
about 65 degrees celcius, hot enough to boil eggs.. The deep shaded forest surrounding the hot spring
is very lovely and is maintained an arboretum named "Raksawarin"
by the Municipality having rest pavilions and bathrooms.
If you continue on the same road (province highway No.4005) , about seven km , you will come to the village of Hat Som Paen , a former tin-mining community.
At Wat Hat Som Paen , visitors feed fruit to the huge black carp (Plaa Phluang) inthe temple stream . The faithful believe these carp are actually "thewada" , a type of angle , and it's forbidden to catch and eat them .
Legend has it that those who will contract leprosy.
At the ending of road , an emerald-green reservoir that fills an old tin quarry called Morakot Thara( now used as reservoir for water work ) . Although tin production in Ranong has slackened off due to the depressed global market . the mining of calcium compounds , used to make porcelain is still profitable .
Nam Tok Punyaban : Another name of this waterfall is "Nam
Tok Sed Takuad" located on Kra Buri - Ranong Road at km. 588-589 , 15 kms north. before
Ranong township area . The waterfall itself cascades from a high cliff and
makes a refreshing rest stop for motorist touring along the south especially in rainy season during July - September.
Nam Tok Ngao Forest Park : This waterfall is located at km 626 , 12 kms. south
of Ranong township area where the whole stream cascades from a high mountain
and can be seen afar. The beautiful scenery of mountains and pastures is
visible from the resting area near the fall . Furthermore , there is a new species of the freshwater crabs endemic to Thailand , " Pu Chao Fa " ,
found only in the area around Nam tok Ngao .
Hat Chan Damri : is situated near km. 8 on the Highway 4004 (Ranong-Pak Nam Route) from Ranong municipality with a 1 km. right turn along a hillside road.
The small beach stretches near the mouth of Maenam Kra Buri where various natural attractions such as Ko Song, Victoria Point and several other cataracts are scattered.
A marvellous scene of sunset can also be appreciated there. Accommodations of Jansom Thara are available at Hat Chan Damri.
Victoria Point : Right across the La - un River, opposite Ranong, is a small town of the Union of Myanmar, Victoria Point. Its main attractions are local products and souvenirs which are available for tourists with reasonable price. The place is accessible within half an hour by mean of boat which is available at Ranong landing for about $200-300, but prior immigration formality must first go through.
Ko Phayam : This Island is a two hours boat trip from Ranong Landing.
It is a location of a pearl raising farm and many households of Chao Le
Tribal people (sea gypsy) . Mostly make their living by fishing and growing cashews.
There are good swimming beaches .In this area there are many islands suitable for fishing and diving ,
Ko Sin Hai , Ko Chang. One can hire the boat from Paknam Ranong for about B 1,500 - 2,000 per day .
Amphoe Kra Buri :
Tham Phra Khayang : is located at km. 564 , Ban Lum Leang , 12 kms. from Kraburi township area. An old legend links
it to the establishment of Kra Buri town. Beautiful stalactite and stalagmite
formations can be seen and it is said that there is Lek Lai (a special
iron element believed to be elastic and flexible like wax) in this cave
too. The cave divided into five levels , the first thee levels have concrete ladder to step up and other two levels can climb to top .
Around the big cave , many small caves are founded .
Royal Initials Rocks : About 86 kms. from town, located in Tambon Pak Chan, Amphoe Kra Buri at kms. 525-526 which marks the connected land between Ranong and Chumphon provinces.
During the royal visit on April 21, 1890 by King Rama V, who travelled with a procession of elephants and horses from Chumphon, his initials "Jor Por Ror" were inscribed on the rock.
In 1959, King Rama IX and Queen Sirikit visited their subjects on March 7 and their initials "Phor Phor Ror" and "Sor Kor" were carved on the rock as well.
Isthmus of Kra : The narrowest part of the Malayan Peninsula is
located here approximately at kms. 545 of Highway No 4 , about 60 km north of Ranong . The scenery visible
from the view-point here is the Kra Buri River, the nature border line between
Thailand and Myanmar.
Nam Tok Bokkrai : This waterfall is located at km. 556-557 , 2 kms. from Kra Buri
township with another 13 kms. on the left side of the main road along the
asphalt road to the fall. Bokkrai Waterfall located in Thung Raya - Nasak Wildlife Sanctuary . Waterfall has many steps with fascinating
nature surrounding.
Nam Tok Chum Saeng or Nam Tok Sai Rung : is located at km. 529-530 in Ban Pak Chan, Tambon Pak Chan, 80 kms. from the city area or 16 kms. from Kra Buri township .
It can be reached by travelling along the Highway No. 4 (route to Chumphon) and then turning left at kms. 529-530 to the laterite road for another 3 kms. Sai Rung which means a rainbow is named according to the splashing figure of the waterfall resulting from the strong hit of the powerful water against rocks.
Amphoe La-un :
Ruin Japanese Warship : On the left side of the bridge over the La-un
River is the old Japanese Warship buried during the end of the Second World
War. The ruin can be seen during the low tide period. The area of Tambon
Pak-chan was used by Japanese Army as the pier to supply war materials for
its army in Myanmar during the Second World War.
Amphoe Kapoe :
Laem Son National Park : From Ranong township along Petch kasem Highway at
kms. 657, turn right another 10 kms. is the Laem Son National Park. With
its area of over 315 square kilometers, the park includes beautiful beaches,
islands and fascinating coral reef. Much or th coast here is covered with mangrove swamps ,
home to various species of birds , fish , and monkeys ,
including the crab-eating macaques which are easily seen while driving along the road to the park head quarters .
The beach is well known as Hat Bang Ben. From the beach you can see several islands ,
including the nearby Ko Kam Yai , Ko Kam Noi , Mu Ko Yipun , Ko Kang Kao and Ko Phayam .

Nam Tok Khao Phra Narai : This fall is situated about 3 kms. from the Amphoe administrative Office. The surrounding area, including the fall, is lovely and peaceful with shady all around.
Khlong Nakha Wild Life Sanctuary : Located about 25 kms. from the township area. Wild life of different types and species are scattered all around this ever-green tropical forest, together with beautiful waterfall make the sanctuary even more attractive for nature-loving tourist and visitor.
