Confusion
02.14.99
Examine your heart, dear woman
and see what it shall reveal.
Is this love?
And, if so, what love shall it be?
Torn asunder by this yearning;
part friendship,
part desire,
and the knowledge that the truth
would end it all.
She, afraid of the darkness
lurking within my heart,
and I, afraid of this love.
Shall I blame erstwhile desire
on a misused yound girl,
turned from innocense
at the hands of trust?
Or,
shall I claim a bewildered hope
that sisterly love does shine
and it is only this desire
that sets my body aflame,
yearning for her lips upon mine?
Entwine my soul
in your wondrous arms
and I shall forever be captive
to thine magic.
Examining this heart
to see what love this is.
Shall the truth
end it all?
