One night we sang, fervent moans of delight
and knocked down walls of fear
with open hearts and minds.
This once,
I unlocked my soul to reveal my heart
and gave you access fully.
Ah, and what incredible things
you entrusted to me, dear man.
Fragile heart, vulnerable strength
and military stature.
Must I shout at you now
so far away from me
to make you hear this,
or will your fears
keep you pinned in your prison,
barred by your past?
Shall I wear this heart upon this sleeve
recklessly
and care not your reaction,
my beautiful man?
Or, would wisdom guide my actions
and have me heed my demons,
and lock this soul safe away
before distance and betrayal
strike me again?
Beautiful man,
trembling in my arms,
whispering of dreams becoming reality,
shaken by my fears,
I yearn your embrace.
