Maybe

Maybe

Jan 93

Can this be? This outrage, this abomination, Can not be real! She tells you no, and somewhere, For some reason, You think she means MAYBE? Where are your values, young-old-indifferent man, That you would carelessly disregard her answer (As if she only pretends to resist)? Watch her struggle, Watch her kick and yell and scream, And she mean MAYBE As the tears roll down her Angry shamed frustrated humiliated face (But -- yes -- she means MAYBE). Slam her self-esteem to the ground Abuse her sexually, physically, mentally, So that she trusts no one, no one, no one. Tell me that it is not a crime. Tell me that she wanted it. (And watch the tears gather.) Tell me that it is fine, For she only meant (NO!) maybe, So that she flaunted it, taunted you, teased you, And so you just knew That she only meant maybe.
