I Am Not A Poet

I Am Not A Poet

Just A Rambler

Oct 92

I am not a poet, no word-juggler, am I. I cannot place the perfect rhyme, nor keep the beat and time of structured, stifled, lines of words that offer naught but dissonance when heard.
I am not an athlete, no hurdle-jumper, am I. I cannot throw the perfect disc, nor toss the javelin and not miss. I am not the owner of the perfect body, hard and firm. I cannot do a piroette or execute the perfect turn.
I am not a dreamer, no cloud-spinner, am I. I cannot wile away the hours, dreaming of princes and flowers, never facing reality, the joy and the pain, never seeing the sun, never tasting the rain.
