want

29 Jun 98

want, i hear your want
whispered in ragged breaths
smoke wafting off your body
as the heat evaporates your sweat
tongue aching touches
that we withhold
tremble of yearning

yet and yet it is more than either can reach too far distant this truth and i, forlorn another missed hope another broken chance for maybe as i might have reached finding one not remotely tied to the screen
but smokey in jars of amber i watch from afar dreaming kisses and dances undreamt and now forgotten perchance in the ashes of responsibility
i weep missed hopes and broken maybes
