Rini brought the Sailor Scouts to the future to save her mother, Neo Queen Serenity, who had been put into a deep sleep. Sailor Moon tried to awaken Neo Queen Serenity using her powers but it didn't work. Rini thought, "Oh no! Even Sailor Moon can't save my mom! It's all my fault."
She ran out of the Crystal Palace and crossed the protective shield that surrounded it. She sat on a swing and suddenly Wiseman appeared before her. He said that she was no longer safe from his powers since she crossed the protective shield. Rini screamed and Wiseman used his powers to find out what had happened to the Silver Crystal of the Future.
He saw that Rini took it because she thought it would make her a graceful lady like her mother. Wiseman brainwashed Rini so that she began to believe that no one loved her. Wiseman gave her false visions of her parents being cruel to her and he gave her false visions of the Sailor Scouts blaming her for Neo Queen Serenity's plight. Rini became overwhelmed with hatred and she was consumed by dark energy. From this hatred and dark energy, Wicked Lady emerged.
