Enslaved

Dedication: To all the times I have felt helpless, to the early days in Canada, and, to all the times when I have fought my loneliness
Inspiration: Movie- Teen Deewaryein

A streak of red in the white life,
The stream of reason, the cascade of hope,
Crunching fingers I strengthen my grip,
Trapping moments, not to ever let go.
I see the oblivious path, the path I once abandoned,
Miles I tried to run away from it,
Tripping on every possible stone,
Then I waited, I watched, but the ground seemed to move beneath,
And left me where I started.
Every ounce of blood in my body,
I worked it to break the walls,
The walls that tempted, seduced and corrupted,
The walls that invaded and diminished me,
I banged and smashed, dug holes,
But they stood there, undefeated, unconquered, telling me, I had lost.
Enslaved in the white world,
Hoping for colour, I held the moment in my hands,
Only to realize, this is where I lived, and, this is where I would die.
