As he made it closer to the gym he could hear chanting. He didn’t really want to go any further then what he already had, but he had no choice.
Finally he made it to the entrance.
The chanting stopped.
He looked into the gym, there stood his mother and father, Anne, Herbert, Wes and Douglas. Barker ran up to him and licked his shoe. There was a stage in the gym and the curtain was closed, it began to open.
Dean waited and watched as he tried to figure out what exactly was going on. Everyone stood like statues and was staring at Dean. He knew what was going on when the curtain opened to reveal the mystery that waited behind it.
On the stage were all the citizens that had been toilet papered by the three guys who thought the joke was funny.
This time the joke was on them.
How did they pull off the special effects of the deaths?
Six months before Halloween, a new citizen had moved into town. His name is Steven Savini, and he is a special effects man, for horror movies. Dean, Wes, and Stephen were all big fans of his, and were excited when they found out he had moved into their town.
Everyone was tired of the Halloween pranks that the three boys played, so the ones that had been victims of their games decided it was time for a little pay back. They all pitched in some money to pay Savini and like magic, he set all the scenes up. It was easy to plan, once they found out Douglas would be the next butt of the joke.
The families all had their phones lines tapped, so they could figure that out. First thing that had to be done was hanging the dummy of Douglas up in the tree. Next was setting up scene number two. They knew Stephen’s house was the closest to the house of Douglas, so that is where they set the scene. They did not set scenes at the other house because it would cost too much, so they took a chance at just doing one.
It worked perfectly.
Messages were left on machines of Dean and Wes, because they knew one of those houses would have been called. The police officers were told not to answer calls coming from Stephens’s house. The cops really wanted to be in on it, because the chief of police had been hit in 2002. The principal gave access to the school, because he was hit in 2001.
So, that is how it all went down. It’s 2004 now, and for some reason I don’t think Bentley will have a victim this year.
The joke was on everyone that Halloween though, because one life was affected the most. Stephen never came out of his shock and he has not spoken a word since the incident.
