The figure vanished through the window. It was clearly night now. Paige was now firmly back on the ground, still standing. She made her way to the open window of her study and dove out. Her body sailed and floated as it came down to the sparse lawn near her front door. Paige’s body lay spread eagle on her front walk. The hole in her chest now encompassed her entire mid section. She was gone. ************************************************************************************** Clarke gulped his lukewarm coffee as Woolsey’s bell tower chimed 11am. “What do you think did it?” the campus policeman asked. “God, if I only knew,” Clarke choked. “Hey! Get that crime wagon over here!” Clarke made his way to the van as the team piled out to dust, gather, mark and ogle the scene. He took off his jacket scratching his arm.
