Below is a fantastic photo of a fantastic church: The Minster at Beverley, East Riding. This looks and feels like a cathedral, but as no-one knows where it is it isn't full of hordes of tourists - so you nearly get the place to yourself. One of the most deeply satisfying times of my life was spent at Morning Communion in this minster, as a thunderstorm raged outside. Sharing a service in a church always gives me some sort of transcendental link with a place, and what a place to feel a link with. If you visit look out for the musicians with the freakish and funny faces all over the nave. Also note how glorious and creamy the stone is, and how well such a mishmash of periods works together.
