Per delectationem vestram (for your delectation) I have included a close-up of the Tree of Jesse window in St Mary's.
Below is the chapel set aside for prayer. As is my wont, I sat here for a time of meditation, which I thoroughly enjoyed. Candles were burning and there was music by Abbess Hildegard of Bingen playing. In normal circumstances I would have found the music enormously intrusive and somewhat tacky, but in this setting it was just right. Note the 16th Century Flemish glass in the chapel window, even if many details can not be made out at this resoultion. In the right there is an entrance to the coffee shop, which I found a charming addition to the place. It is reassuring to know that life still goes on in such 'redundant' places. In an England without spirit I hope that people may one day rediscover such places, and of course the God who speaks or whispers through them.
