| Prior to meeting Aitch!, Pete Perry had been involved in music for a long time. He was in a skiffle group, The Apostles, with his mates in the fifties, and wrote songs. He also presented his record show, After The Bull (so called because it was broadcast on 'Bull Nights' )at RAF Ruilsip from 1957 to 1958, playing all the latest Rock 'n' Roll records. It proved to be extremely popular, as it hailed the beginning of the Rock 'n' Roll era... this, together with a very rare recording of THE ASPOSTLES SKIFFLE GROUP will soon be available. |

| In the eighties, just before launching Switchboard, Pete met Howard 'Aitch' Bird and Kevin Green through his old pals, Terry Chapman and Phill Franklin, who had just signed them up for their new band, GYPPSY (pictured left). This was just one of several bands featuring Terry and Phill: There were also LEFT HAND DRIVE and, believe it or not, OASIS! |

| In the Sixties, when Pete formed The M.O.T.F, (see the 'Haven Grandiflora!' page,) two groups were formed, OAK TREE INTERNATIONAL and ARCHIMEDES. Pete wrote songs and sang for both these bands. Classic 'Family' songs were written by Pete at this time, such as OAK TREE, NOBODY CARES ABOUT POLAROID BEARS, PETALS OF A CHILD'S MIND, MY LITTLE PRINCESS, and FRANCESCA. There were other 'Family' bands too, one of which, NUFFINK, featured Terry Chapman and Phill Franklin, RAT which featured Dave Atkin on keyboards, and PAPER MOON, which featured Eddie Smith and John Ridley... |
| Very soon, Pete and Aitch! had formed a songwriting partnership, which has led to a revamping of 'Family' songs, and the writing of two musicals, 'Carol & The Christmas Toys' and 'Francesca'. More recently, Aitch, inspired by Pete's autobiographical masterpiece 'Haven Grandifora!' has written a classical piece, The Haven Grandiflora! Suite. This should be completed by the middle of April 2006... WATCH THIS SPACE... |
