END
OF OCTOBER PROGRESS…
Hello friends, its almost the end of the third month this
project has progressed. It has seemed so long, but after today when I put
together some of the painted panels together, it’s been worth it. Take a look
at the pics and tell me if you agree…
Oh
After sitting
in the same spot being worked on, my Kuda gathered a lot of dust. So I had to
wash it for the photo session.
Is it low
enough? I think any lower and the car would not go far on the streets of Solo.
Here you can see the newly painted
bonnet, bumper and wide body fender put together for the first time.
The left
fender is not finished being painted yet, in a weeks time it should be
finished, then I can drive it…
It took me a while to decide whether I
should paint the new Evo bonnet all green or make it two tone. I thought… ah
what the hell, go a little wild and make it something different.
And here is
the result… no regrets. I think it looks awesome!
This is a front on shot. I still need to
put the lights in the bumpers and aluminium mesh on the grille and bumper.
Those Grandia
headlamps look a little different with the ‘eye-lids’ ya! I hope that front bumper won’t scrape the
ground too much…
Here is a close up of the front right
fender. Its one piece you know!
Now I can
make fast full lock turns without my tyres rubbing metal.
Now my wheels
start to look small… always like this yeah, never ending. Have to stop.
This is what it looks like from the back.
The arrow shows that the top bodyline has also been widened, it’s not just the
silver part you see here.
This gives
the effect of a more muscular front. Wide top and bottom.
Ok, here is a picture of the side skirt
that I also made in metal. Its still not finished being painted, but the shape
is final. The rear bumper will also continue the side skirt’s styling…
This picture shows the gas-strut lift
system that I made for the bonnet…
The arrow shows the single strut that
holds the whole bonnet up.
It works like
magic, opens and closes with ease. And no more pain to put the original bonnet
stand up ever again.
Also makes it
look more custom, especially when you have a nice engine to show off.
Recently I also retrimmed the doors and
other panels below the window line in leather and semi leather.
It looks so
much better now, since its all one colour with the seats.
The dashboard
will be the next victim!
The rear panels were also done
in the same fashion.
Before these
panels were put on, I also use sound insulation, asphalt sheets to help reduce
outside noise. I think it works quite well.
I wanted to
show you this a long time ago, I changed the dashboard lights with some violet
ones, and the effect is very nice at nighttime…
Simple but
cool.
Can your Kuda Diesel go as fast as mine?
Hahahahhaaaaaa….
That’s about
173 km/h!
