Widow's Peak
R'lan

Name: R'lan (Ralan)
Age: 40
Sex/Preference: Male/Hetrosexual
Rank/Title/Position: Wingleader/bronzerider of Valoth
Current Location: Fort Weyr

Detailed Description

Physical- R'lan is not that tall, though you might think he would be, he is about average, and quite skinny, though he does have muscles from turns of riding a dragon. He has short cropped black hair that he keeps neat, his eyes are an interesting green/hazel, but other than that his features are pretty plain; his skin is a healthy colour, and he often looks quite solemn; laughter rarely
touches him, though smiles do as they get you further than a frown.
He has that slightly dangerous look sometimes as if he knows something you don't, but that could have a bearing on your life.

Emotional- R'lan is ambitious there are no two ways about it, he wants to be the best he can be, and will do practically anything to achieve that. He is
quite serious, and needs to learn to joke a little more, but he dosn't appear cold and anti-social, he's just more interested in other things. His manners are formal, or at least appear so, and he is happy with that, as its how he was bought up. He seems to treat everyone with formal disdain, almost as if they are not  worthy, he is overly selfconsious and darned if he dosn't
let you know he thinks highly of himself.

Brief History: Ralan was born to Drudge Ralla, after she spent one gather night with a charming blue rider, L'van did the honourable thing after realising the
baby was his and took them to live at the Weyr, this worked alright for the first three turns, but Ralla didn't like Weyrlife, they had none of the ethics a cotholders daughter was used to, so when Ralan was three she took him back to Fort Hold, and the Healer Hall.  Ralan finished growing up there, he lived mainly
with a foster family, but saw his mother almost everyday; when he was twelve he choose to Apprentice into the Harper craft to make use of his musical talent. He didn't ever think to become a rider, L'van having withdrawn from his life when Ralla left the Weyr, until the searchdragon came when he was fifteen, and
found him suitable candidate material, upon arriving there he was surprised that L'van and Goonath were waiting to welcome him, so this was the father his mother never talked about. Valoth cracked shell at the first hatching Ralan, stood for and they've been a pair ever since. R'lan rose steadily throught the ranks to Wingleader, and wanted desperatly to lead the Weyr, Valoth was certainly larger enough to catch a Queen, but he never did. When Patith impressed at Widows, R'lan was one of the earliest in a long line of bronzeriders, who wanted to go there, a weak Weyrwoman would mean they'd have control of the Weyr, and she was young, without another Goldrider to guide her, it was a common thought that whoever won that first flight would have easy control of a Weyr.
R'lan and Valoth have now got permission to transfer, and are wasting no time in getting ready to leave.

Abilities/Strengths/Weaknesses: R'lan has a beautiful singing voice, he is good leader as long as you don't mind being exactly that, lead, he leads
independantly and in his own style. R'lan can cook, and is fair enough with a needle as a rider need be. He can't swim very well, and is rather impatient.
