Detailed Description

  Physical- Rounded instead of slender as riders generally were, Roseen looks more like a cleaning drudge.  She has shoulder length brown hair that is tinged with just a touch of burnishness. But her hair is wildly unrulely, more often in her eyes and face then tamed and back where it should be caught up in a band.  Her plump face is deceiving in that you feel she should be a jovial pushover, especially since she was also short, standing not quite five feet tall.  Her eyes are a murky green that tends to change slightly with her moods.  Roseen has a limp from her birthing.  She tends to wear men's blouses and trousers to cover her robust figure.  All in all Roseen is unremarkable in appearance and would be overlooked by anyone and everyone if she were not the Weyrwoman. 

  Emotional- Roseen has had a lot put on her young shoulders.  Her mind is in turmiol most of the time.  She can't trust anyone around her for it seems to her that everyone has their own agenda.  The Weyr she has inherited with the death of the previous Weyrwoman was practically empty of riders.  Distrustful of those around her, feeling like the new riders, that have suddenly asked to transfer to Widow's Peak, are only out to take over the Weyr, Roseen keeps her own counsel.  She has become quiet, thoughtful, considering all that must be done to save an ailing Weyr.  And wondering if she can handle it.


Brief History: During her birthing Roseen had to be turned, twisted so as to unloop the umbibical cord from around her throat.  During the turning of the heavy baby the Healer delivering Roseen broke the baby's leg.  Never having set a baby's leg before the Healer, a Journeyman of tender years, allowed the leg to heal crooked.  This leg has caused Roseen pain all her life.  She limps and when the day has been tiring or the stress of the day has been heavy the limp becomes severe.  Boys have overlooked the fat lame girl Roseen was during her young life.  Now it seems that ever male around her is trying to get her attention, wooing her.  There can only be one reason, they wanted the Weyr, not her.  And that had been the story of her life.  Even her parents hadn't wanted they crippled baby.  Oh, they had raised her, but more as a chore until she was old enough to work, and then as a servant to them.  She ended up doing the dirty work around the Weyr.  That was the reason that fat, lame Roseen was set the task or cutting up meat for whoever might impress the only gold egg laid by Shiplith.  Only, Gold Patith had a mind of her own and knew the one and only person who would be her lifemate was cubby Roseen.  Two turns have passed since Patith chose Roseen.  The match was a disappointment to the Weyr.  Patith was the future of Widow's Peak and she picked the most unlikely woman to bond with.  Riders abandoned Widow's Peak seeking service with larger Weyrs.  It was only when the elderly Weyrwoman Fammili died that it occurred to others that here was a chance to have a Weyr of their own.  It it meant that mating with Roseen, well wasn't the reward of leading, ruling a Weyr worth it?
 



Abilities/Strengths/Weaknesses: Not the gulible child everyone preceived her to be Roseen will become a strong Weyrwoman.  Has a weakness for bubbly pies.  Has trouble trusting anyone.  Physically remains in pain a great deal with her leg.  Mentally sharp.

Description:  Dark gold with a pale yellow belly.  Wing tips are almost bronze in their richness.  Eyes green.

Personality:  Willful, as was proven with her choice of a weyrmate.  Quick to protect Roseen, she will not be dictated to by any other dragon.

Strengths/Weaknesses:  Commanding with a bit of temper, Patith will not stand for much from anyone, rider or dragon.  She has a tendence to not eat as often as she should, this could be because her rider tends to eat well.
