About Matt Lapinski: Going into the season, talks among the league where that Matt Lapinski was quite possibly the worst Wiffle Ball player in the history of the game. Boy, have things changed! On his debut, Lapinski stole the show pitching 2 shutouts and leading his team into the Championship game as well as hitting a miraculous solo shot homerun over the right center field fence (a feat that very few have accomplished to say the least!!) to win the game for the Larry Lager's. Lapinski so far is the biggest surprise of the year! He has drawn comparisons to Curt Schilling of the Arizona Diamondbacks as Lapinski is an inning eater and has big strikeout capabilities. Currently he is in the lead for Cy Young honors and a potential candidate for MVP. If Lapinski keeps playing the way he is capable of, he will definitely be a top vote getter for the Cy Young and possible MVP.

Fun Facts: Loves Jimmy John Sub Sandwiches. His nicknames include, "Big Nasty", "Pecker Legs", and "Lappy". Lapinski was the state/capital champion in 3rd and 4th grade. He also ran 8th grade Cross Country.  He currently is dating high school sweetheart, Ashley Elkins.

About Josh Steiger: Before the season began, Josh Steiger (better known as "Steig") was a pre-season MVP candidate. Not much has changed as Steiger is still one of the elite players in the league but so far his power numbers are down and his pitching has been horrendous. But with Cy Young candidate Matt Lapinski pitching gems each game not much pitching will be needed from Steiger. Word has been spreading around the league that Steiger has "lost a step or two."  Things haven't helped much as Steiger has come down with an arm injury that occurred in the Championship game that will only slow him down even more. If Steiger can get back on track, the Larry Lager's will be a very tough team to beat. When healthy, Steiger can be one of the most dominating players in the game.  Being paired with Lapinski, they are a dynamic duo showcasing one of the greatest defenses in the history of the game. If they get their bats going, they will be a team no one wants to mess with.  The sky is the limit for the Larry Lager's and only time will tell how far they go.

Fun Facts: Once played for the Nets in GLYBA, coached by Hall of Famer Jim Steiger. Has 2 brothers both in the Wiffle WarsŪ Hall of Fame. Has been known to do some damage to Pizza Hut lunch buffets. Has been compared to Manute Bol.
