Line One: Nicholas Faulkner came to Lincoln County from Cumberland County Va. in 1823 and purchased land on Hoyle's Creek adjoining David Smith. He was a Captain in the War of 1812, Va. Militia.
Line Two: Nancy Faulkner was actually Nancy Ann Allen Faulkner, daughter of Vincent and Elizabeth Allen.
Line Three: John Nicholas Faulkner, My GGF, and original owner of this Bible.
Line Four: Henry J. Dellinger, father of Ascenith Lavinia Matilda Dellinger, was supposedly the son of Jacob Dellinger & Sally Smoller. Need proof of his parentage.
Line Five: Mary Jane Faulkner, see notes on page one and two.
Line Six: Nicholas Henry Faulkner, son of J N & A L Faulkner, married Martha Caldwell. Martha was the daughter of James C. Caldwell & Martha J. "Patsy" Cooper. She was also the sister to Noah And Henry Caldwell, fathers of the children mentioned on page two. Nicholas and Patsy had two other sons, James Marion Faulkner & Walter Charlie Faulkner. Their descendants live mostly in Gaston County and include Faulkner, Braswell, Connor, Sanders and others.

Line Seven: Tildenah Dellinger was the second wife of Henry Dellinger, M-20 Apr 1833. Henry was previously married to Caroline Dellinger (9 Oct 1818). Tildenah was actually Matilda Bradshaw, daughter of John Bradshaw and Mary (Polly) Shutly, and granddaughter of Jonas Bradshaw and Elizabeth Ratcliff. Henry and Tildenah had four Children: (1) Josiah R. who married Melinda Bynum, (2) Mary Malinda, who married Joseph Levi Nantz (3) Ascenith, (4) John A., of whom I have not found any further despite many hours of research.Page Five:

Personally appeared before the undersigned, a justice of the peace within and for said county, Jesse Criddle, of lawful age, who being sworn deposes and says that he was acquainted with Nicholas Falkner in his life time and knows that the said Falkner organized as Captain a Company of Militia in Cumberland County Virginia to serve in the war with Great Britain declared by the United States on the 18th day of June A D 1812, that said Falkner marched his Company to Norfolk Virginia after an absence some three or four months said Falkner returned to Cumberland County aforesaid in bad health. Said Falkner resided in Cumberland County, Virginia.
