Pac-Mania is my favorite arcade Pac-Man game. In Pac-Mania you move Pac-Man around mazes eating dots and avoiding ghosts like in most Pac-Man games but you also have the ability to jump (and the graphics are semi-3d). There are 4 mazes: Block Town, Pac-Man's Park, Sandbox Land and The Jungly Steps. My favorite maze in this game is Pac-Man's Park because it's a recreation of the maze from the original Pac-Man. In addition to the usual fruit bonus items there are a green pill that gives you super speed, a red pill that acts as a power pellet & increases the point values of the ghosts and various food items in that are worth bonus points (similar to the fruit). There are more ghosts in each level than in the previous level and in the 2 later mazes some of the ghosts have the ability to jump.
The main reason I like this game so much is because you have the ability to jump. Jumping comes in handy when there are ghosts in your path or when they surround you.
In my opinion, Pac-Mania adds some great gameplay elements, especially jumping, while staying very true to the original Pac-Man. If you've never played it, try to find an arcade that has it and give it a try. You won't be disappointed!
