Kathy Whipple, why are you stealing my dream?
Who is Kathy Whipple?  Well she's a rochester area native (webster) who went to Geneseo and just got on Mark Cuban's new reality series "The Benefactor".  The contestants live in some house in Dallas for three weeks doing contests that weed them out and the winner gets a million dollars form the maverick owner of the Dallas Mavericks.  Should I be happy for this girl?  Probably but I'm not.  Here's why.

1.  Who is she?  From what I've learned so fat she's from Webster, was a biochem major who graduated from Geneseo in 2003 and played on the softball team.  I don't even know who she is.  Her name sounds familiar but you would think that I would know everyone cool in geneseo, or at least have heard of them.  Plus if she's going to be on national television she's probably pretty hot.  Or at least semi-attractive.  You would think that I would know her just from staring at her in the bar or hearing rumors about who hooked up with her.  But no, I have no clue who she is.  Furthermore, if I learn that she used to be at some family/friend bbq of my relatives who live in webster when I wa 10 years old I'm going to be pissed.

2.  If any rochester native who went to geneseo deserves to be on the show its me.  (albeit I will admit that I never tried out for the show but that point is irrelevant for the time being)  What the hell is she going to do with the money, pay for medical school?  Buy a pontiac sunbird or a non turbo charged jetta?  She's going to waste that money.  This is what I planned to do with the million dollars.  Buy the LA Clippers.  I think the owner of the clippers would be happy to unload the team for a million dollars.  And if he wanted more, I'm sure Mark Cuban would help me get the money to finance the rest just so he could have another cool owner to hang out with.  But than you may ask how would I pay the players?  Simple.  I would use a revolutionary new approach - profit sharing with the players and coach.  After we pay all the administrative staff and the lease and shit, all the other profits would be split among me and the players.  I would probably just hire a player coach to save on costs too.  I haven't worked out all the details yet so I don't know if I would get a higher share, or if star players would get more but those are only minor details.  You may question whether this could work?  I think it would.  It would give my players an incentive to win and play an entertaining style of basketaball to attract more people to thier games.  (both home and away since away teams get a percentage of gate reciepts too).  Plus it would attract more team minded players who understand to win, and make the big money they have to win.  Plus with profit sharing my players could make more than they ever could under a normal contract situation.  Thier fate, i.e. how much money they make would be in their hands.  You may be wondering whether this can all work within the NBA salary cap.  I really don't know, but their are so many loopholes in the NBA salary cap I think I could do it somehow.

3.  Webster sucks.  With apologies to all my friends from webster, no normal person has ever come out of there.  This girl is just going to make all of Rochester look bad.  IF a person really had to be picked from webster why couldn't it be laraby.  At least I would get some of the benefits of his million dollars

Thats all I got right now.  I'm sure when I'm stewing in my bed trying to fall asleep tonight I'll think of more reasons why I deserve this and Kathy Whipple doesn't.
