Anthony Field talks about the new Wiggles CD, the value of lullabys, the different type of music on the CD, and why The Wiggles decided to do this very different CD.

1. Why did you decide to release a Lullaby album?

Anthony: Children are used to dancing and singing along with The Wiggles music, Parents have asked us for many years to record an album of lullabies to help their children go to sleep.

2. What is so special about lullabies?

Anthony: Lullabies are apart of children's experience, all around the world, mothers and fathers and grandparents have sung lullabies to their children and grandchildren, they have always sung. A lullaby is very calm and helps to sooth and relaxes a child. Sleep is an important part of every child's day.

3. You seem to have recorded many different styles of music on this album. Is that true?

Anthony: Yes we have recorded lullabies from many different cultures, Greek, Irish, Polish an even an Indigenous Australian lullaby. It's a wonderful confluence of cultures.

4. Tell me about the instruments you have used on album?

Anthony: We use all acoustic and organic instruments, such as violins, chello, viola, acoustic guitar, piano and wind instruments; once again these are all soothing instruments.

5. How does this lullaby album tie in with the Wiggles early childhood philosophy?

Anthony: We try to provide music for all factors of a child's life eg. Singing songs about food, about moving your body. Lullaby songs reflect the need for children to sleep and sometimes reflect that children need soothing songs like lullabies
