AOL Live chat with Greg and Jeff from The Wiggles,
to chat about their Wiggly Party tour and Wiggly Christmas plans. December 10 2001 Live Host: Greg's here! Hi Greg :) Thanks for coming to chat with us today. Greg: Hello everybody! Great to be here on AOL. Live Host: Jeff will be with us very soon. I think someone's gone to wake him up ;) Question: How does Dorothy keep her spots so nice and yellow? Greg:Dorothy washes them very carefully with rose oil to make them nice and shiny. Question: Can we expect any more Wiggles CDs and videos, after this year? Greg:There's one coming out in February, a CD that we've recorded with the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin. It has lots of great animal songs on it. Question: Where are Anthony and Murray tonight? Greg: They're working on the big red car, getting it ready for the shows tomorrow in Melbourne. Question: Does Wags's barking ever get annoying? Greg: It doesn't get annoying, but he barks very loudly. Sometimes we have to ask him to stop barking so loudly. Question: How was it being the Thanksgiving Day parade? I was in NY and saw you and was surprised. Greg: We were very honoured to be asked to be part of the parade, and it was great to see so many New Yorkers along Broadway, clapping and cheering. And we were surprised that so many people knew who we were. Question: When are you guys coming down to Melbourne? My little girl really wants to see you guys live. Greg: We're in Melbourne now for shows tomorrow and Wednesday at the Vodafone Arena. Live Host: You'll find all the tour details at Keyword: The Wiggles :) Question: Do you fly or drive the red car when you're on tour? Is Dorothy afraid of flying? Greg: It depends where we're going. If it's somewhere nearby, then we'll take the big red car. But if have to go overseas we'll fly. Live Host: Here's Jeff! Jeff: Hi! Question: Does Captain Feathersword make you walk the gang plank? Greg: No, he doesn't make us walk the gangplank. He's a friendly pirate and he sings to us using his magic music pirate buttons. Jeff: He doesn't have a gangplank! Question: Do The Wiggles enjoy making little kids and big kids happy? Jeff: We enjoy making anyone happy - anyone and everyone! Question: Jeff do you dream about Dorothy the Dinosaur? Jeff: I dream about Dorothy, I dream about Wags and Henry. I sometimes dream about being a cow! Question: Greg: who is your favourite reindeer? Mine is Prancer! Greg: I like Rudolph, the red-nosed reindeer. Live Host: Rudolph's chatting with us next week :) Question: What are your plans for Christmas? Jeff:To have Christmas dinner with the family, and then have a very long snooze. Greg: I'm looking forward to seeing the look on my children's faces when they come downstairs and see what Santa Claus has left for them. Question: Jeff, why are you always so sleepy? Jeff: Because I do a lot of wiggling, as the other Wiggles do, but I guess that's just me - I just enjoy sleeping! Question: Why does Henry wear tartan - is he a Scottish octopus? Jeff: He probably has Scottish heritage somewhere. I think he used to be called McOctopus, but he dropped the 'Mc'. Greg: We'll have to do a search on his family tree and find out. Question: What sort of dog is Wags? Greg: He's a dancing dog. Jeff: A brown, furry dancing dog. And he's very smart. Question: What was your favourite float in the Macy's thanksgiving parade? Jeff: We enjoyed being on our clown taxi float. There were some fantastic helium balloon characters - there was a fireman which the City of New York brought out after 40 years in retirement. Greg: We also saw Billy Ray Cyrus, which was very exciting! Jeff: We almost accidentally ran him over. Greg: He actually almost stepped out in front of us, so we didn't really almost run him over. Question: Greg and Jeff: What song do you like to perform the most? Jeff: I enjoy 'Rockabye Your Bear' . Greg: Any opportunity to fall asleep, he'll take it! I enjoy singing 'Wake Up Jeff' to wake him up. Question: What is your favourite thing about Christmas time? Jeff: One of the things is, getting close to Christmas, doing Carols in the Domain in Sydney. And just spending time with family and friends. Greg: I don't mind eating the turkey and the ham, that's pretty good! Question: Did you ever think you would become as famous as you have? Jeff: Not at all. Greg: Never! Question: What does Dorothy want for Christmas? Jeff: I would say roses! Nice, red, yummy roses. Question: Do you write all your own songs? Greg: We write most of the songs ourselves, but Anthony's brother John helps out. Jeff: And a few other friends help out too. Question: Do you ever sing Jingle Bell Rock? Greg: No, we've never done that one actually. Jeff: Not on a Wiggles album, Greg: That's a great song. We might do it one day. Question: Greg, why is Anthony always on the bloopers at the end of the DVD? Greg: When we did the bloopers, we actually did a blooper tally, and Anthony ended up with 22 bloopers from that TV special. The next number was 10. Jeff: So there was plenty of footage available! Question: Can u explain the magic buttons on Capt Feathersword's vest please? Greg: They're magic buttons - when you push them you can sing in all different voices. It's an ingenious invention that Murray created. Question: Do you like performing in front of big crowds or do you get scared? Greg: We're kind of used to it now. I guess when we started it was more scary than it is now. Jeff: It's not really scary at all now. Question: Jeff are you gonna ask Santa to wake you up when he comes down the chimney? Jeff:If I'm asleep, I would hope that he wouldn't wake me up because I enjoy my sleep! So that's what I would ask Santa to get me for Christmas: not to wake me up! Question: Are you guys trained as preschool teachers? Greg: I am. Jeff: Everyone is except for me. Question: Can you get the words to your songs off the Internet? Greg: Not that we know of. There might be somewhere where you can get them, but we don't know where. Jeff: Some of the lyrics are on the CD sleeves. Question: So how long have you guys been wiggling for? Jeff: Ten years. Greg: It's our tenth birthday this year. Question: Jeff do you ever wear any colours other then purple on the weekends and at home? Jeff: At home, sometimes I will wear other T-shirts. Greg: When the purple shirts are in the wash. Jeff: My second favourite colour would be blue. Question: When are you guys coming back on the tele? Greg: That's a good question - I don't know! Jeff: Maybe next year. Greg: Hopefully next year we'll be back on. Question: Will u be introducing any more characters in 2002? Greg: No, no new characters. The big red car is full up at the moment. Jeff: We'll have a new Wiggly friend in Steve Irwin, the Crocodile Hunter. Greg: Yes, he's a character, lol. Question: How did your American tour go? Greg: It went really well. We had fantastic audiences. Jeff: We met lots of our Wiggly friends in the US. Question: What's your favourite country to tour in? Greg:We like touring everywhere really. Australia's great because we can get home on weekends. But there are things we like about all countries. Jeff: Each country offers something different. Greg: But wherever we go, we always have a great time doing our shows. Question: Greg, how did you get started in magic? Have you been learning tricks for a long time? Greg: I got started in magic when I was about 5 years old, I got a magic kit for Christmas actually. And that's what started me on my magic learnings. Question: Do you have to take a lot of time out of your life to be in showbiz and is there any time for friends and family? Greg: Being in showbusiness is great, and we love doing what we do. Jeff: We just try to find a balance between having time with our friends and family, and being in the business - performing and doing concerts. Greg:Which is not always easy, but it certainly makes it easier when we love what we do. Question: Will you do another Movie? Greg: We're looking at doing a movie perhaps next year or the year after. We're not sure what it's going to be about yet, but we're hoping to do one because making movies is fun! Question: How did you meet Dorothy? Greg: Dorothy was sitting in our mother's garden late one night, eating lots of roses. Jeff: She must have wandered into the garden because there were lots of roses there. Greg: She loves munching on those roses. Question: What was it like doing Neighbours? Greg: It was a lot of fun. They're all very nice people on Neighbours, very friendly. It was very interesting to work with a group of different people. Jeff: And it was fun driving the big red car up Ramsay Street. It was a bit uphill so the car was struggling a bit. Greg: But we got there in the end. In one take too, I must say! Question: How is Wags going? Greg: Wags is going very well, thank you. He's enjoying dancing in our big shows. He's been practising doing the splits and jumping in the air, and all his dancing moves. Jeff: And he loves dancing the Shake-Shake. Greg: He'll be dancing in his street to give all the people in his street a Christmas treat! Question: How do your kids feel about having Wiggles for Dads? Greg:They probably don't like it so much when I'm away from home, but I think they're happy to know that what I do for a job makes lots of other children very happy. Question: How long do you expect to keep Wiggling for? Greg: We'll keep on Wiggling till we don't enjoy it any more. So... we could be Wiggling till we're 100! Question: Are you going to celebrate your 10th birthday? Jeff: We're going to have a big birthday cake and hope that Anthony doesn't eat it all, so we can get a slice. Question: Big Tonster asks: Is it fun singing on stage? Greg: It's great fun doing what we do. It's always fun singing anywhere, but when it's onstage and there are lots of people out there enjoying what we do, it makes it all worthwhile. Question: Hi Jeff :) Have you fallen asleep during any of the Wiggly Party concerts yet? Jeff: Yes I have! Every single one of them! Question: How can we write to you guys? Greg: At the website, www.thewiggles.com Question: Is Jeff still awake? Greg: Let me just check... no, he's asleep! We're going to have to wake him up. When I count three, everyone wake him up: One.
