AOL Live chat with The Wiggles, October 29 2001 Live Host: Anthony's here!! The Big Red Car is stuck in traffic but the other guys will be here very soon :) Live Host: Hi Anthony :) Thanks for chatting with us tonight. Anthony: Hello everyone! And happy Wiggling :) Question: How did you get to be The Wiggles? Anthony:Well 3 of us were preschool teachers and in our school holidays from teaching we went around singing children's songs that we'd written ourselves, and that's how it all started. Question:What can we expect from the Wiggly Party? Anthony:There's actually a song we're very excited about called 'Do the Owl' which we're doing on rollerskates. The Big Red Car will be coming onstage, Dorothy, Wags, Captain Feathersword and Henry will be there, as well as Santa Claus and lots of great dances as well. Live Host: Rollerskates, wow! Question:Anthony, what is your favourite song to perform? Anthony:'Wags, He Loves to Shake Shake' - I love watching Wags dance! Comment: WE LOVE YOU WIGGLES Anthony:Thank you very much :) Question: Do you ever get sore cheeks from smiling Anthony: Sometimes :) But it's such a great job, you naturally start smiling all the time. Question: Why does Dorothy only eat roses? Anthony: She's a rose-etarian, and her breed of dinosaur, that's their staple diet. Although I think Dorothy's the only one of her type in the world. Question: How did you learn all the good dances? From Hugh Anthony: We actually write the song and then work out what the dance movements are for the song, with the help of our choreographer, who teaches us how to dance. And then we go and play the song to some children, and see if they like it or not. That's how we do it! The children are usually Murray's or Greg's :) Question: When is your next song coming out? Anthony: We have a new Christmas video, 'Yule Be Wiggling', which has just come out. But the exciting news is we're doing a video with the Crocodile Hunter, Steve Irwin! Question: Do you sing well at home? Anthony: Sing all the time! Sing so much, in fact, that sometimes we lose our voices. Question: Anthony do you plan to be a Wiggle for many more years to come? Anthony: I'd love to be able to keep Wiggling for many years to come. I really enjoy Wiggling and meeting all the children and the families, and it's never boring! Question: I have seen you live 8 times and you have been great, I was just wondering whether you will be playing live again in Australia once you get back from the US? Anthony: Yes, in December we're doing the Wiggly Party Show. We're going to nearly every state in Australia. Anthony: One day we tried it, and it confused us more than anything! I'm very happy with blue, though. Question: How is Dorothy? From Callum Anthony: Dorothy is very happy, and a lovely dinosaur, and enjoying dancing - and can't wait to meet everyone! Thanks, Callum :) Comment: Hi Anthony - I have my 3 kids wanting to say a big Wiggle hello Anthony: A big Wiggle hello back - 3 times! Comment: I think you are the best music group. I have been to 5 of your concerts, I have all your toys, magazines and Mummy has even bought me a 'Wiggles' cookbook and we made a big batch of Dorothy's pikelets for my friends at 'Super Kids' Day Care Centre. Anthony: WOW! I'd love to have some of that beautiful food right now, I'm feeling hungry! But that sounds like lots of fun. Question: Hi Wiggles, how are you? What u all been up to? Anthony: We've just come back from Darwin, in Australia's Top End. We were playing shows around, and we travelled in the Big Red Car. We saw kangaroos, buffalo, dingoes and the odd eagle. Plus we got to meet lots of people from the Outback. It was really good fun! Live Host: Wow! What a great trip :) Question: What's the best thing about being a Wiggle? Anthony:The shows are always fun. Singing songs for a living and meeting our fantastic audience is the best thing you could do. Anthony: Here's Greg for some questions! Question: Greg, what is your best magic trick? Greg: My best magic trick is trying to get the rabbit out of the hat... it hasn't worked properly yet though! Question: Where do u get your energy from? Anthony: Eating lots of great food gives you lots of great energy. We try to stay from fried foods as much as we can, and concentrate on healthy food like fruit salad. Question: Will you still be a Wiggle when you are 60? Greg: Yes, you cannot take the wiggle out of the Wiggle! I'm always Wiggling. Question: Hayley (3) Sarah (11months) and Auntie Christy (17) all want to know if Dorothy likes chocolate too. Anthony: You know, I think she loves rose-y chocolates. Question: Hey Wiggles! What are your favourite colours and favourite animals? Live Host: Here come Murray and Jeff! Anthony: Favourite colours are Anthony - blue, Greg - yellow, Murray - red, Jeff - purple. Greg loves rabbits, Murray loves goldfish, Jeff likes cats and Anthony likes dogs! Question: WHERE DOES CAPTAIN FEATHERSWORD LIVE? Murray: He lives on his ship, the SS Feathersword. Question: Hi Wiggles, will you be bringing the big red car to your concert in December? From Jessica aged 2 Greg: Yes! The Big Red Car will be there. Jeff: I fall asleep all the time because I just love the dreams that I have, they're very funny dreams. Sometimes I dream about being a cow. Also because I'm tired! :) Question: What kind of music does Murray like? From Dylan Syres Murray: I like lots of different sorts of music. Lots of pop music, especially from the '60s when I was a little kid. Question: How old is Dorothy? Murray: Dorothy is five dinosaur years old. Question: Hey how has your success been so far? Has it been as Wiggly and exciting as it looks? Anthony: Yes it has been. It's probably been even Wigglier than it looks! Greg: We've met many, many people and travelled many kilometres in the Big Red Car. Question: For Murray and gang...when did you start playing musical instruments...from Maddy Murray: I started playing the guitar when I was 10 - and I've never stopped! Question: Greg, what is your best song to sing? Greg: I love singing 'Hot Potato'. Question: Who cleans the big red car? Anthony: Usually Murray. Murray: Sometimes Henry the Octopus because he has so many tentacles, so he can hold lots of cloths and brushes. Question: What does Henry like to eat? Anthony:Henry loves seaweed pie! They call it Octo-pie. Question: Jack would like to know what Wags has been doing. Anthony: Wags is giving his own Christmas concert to the people in the street in which he lives, and he's been perfecting a dance called the Shake-Shake. He's also working on his wonderful doggy acrobatics act. He's a very clever dog. Jeff: He can do cartwheels! Question: Murray, what is your favourite food? Murray: My favourite food is lasagne! Question: Where can we see the big red car? My name is James and I'm 2 years Old and love playing the guitar like Murray Murray: You'll be able to see it at our concerts at the end of the year if you live in a capital city, and sometimes you can see us just travelling through the streets if you're lucky... keep your eyes open! Question: What do you all like doing in your spare time? (Jeff, you don't have to answer, we all know what you like doing in your spare time ZzZzZ) Anthony: I love walking my dogs - I've got four little puppies that I love walking. Three of them are fox terriers, and one of them's a little sausage dog. Greg: I love singing my favourite songs and I love trying to perfect my magic tricks. Question: Do the Wiggles follow any footy teams? Anthony: Love footy! I support Wests Tigers. Murray loves St Kilda. Comment: I love The Wiggles and I am 12 years old. My whole school loves you. When I was in kindergarten I went to your concert and got a shirt signed by all of you and I wear it on camps, soccer training even to bed. Thank you for sharing your excellent cool music.
