AOL live chat with Jeff and Murray of THE WIGGLES about their upcoming US tour and their new CD. AuLive1: Hi Jeff :) Thanks for coming to chat with us today. Jeff: It's a pleasure :) Question: Did you have a good Christmas? Get good pressies?? Jeff: Yes, we had a fantastic Christmas. A few pressies, lots of food and then for me, a long nap afterwards! Question: When will your new CD be out? Is it all new songs? Jeff: Very shortly! In February I think. They're all new songs, songs about animals. It was done with Steve Irwin, The Crocodile Hunter. There's one song that was written by John Williamson, Old Man Emu, which isn't a new song, but it's new for us. Most people will be familiar with it. Question: Are there any new dances on the new CD? Jeff: On the video there'll be some new dances. There was one, Do The Owl, which we did at the Wiggly, Wiggly Big Show - that's quite new. That was done on rollerskates - well I was anyway, and Anthony was some of the time, but Greg and Murray weren't. Murray played guitar and Greg sang. Question: What's your favourite animal in the jungle? Jeff: In the jungle, wow! It would be dingos, in the jungle or in the wild. They're a bit like dogs, but you still have to be careful and not approach them too quickly - always make sure you're with a grown up - but just because they're so much like dogs I like them. Question: How are Dorothy and Wags? Jeff: Dorothy and Wags are well, thank you. Dorothy thanks everyone for bringing her roses during the tour, and Wags also thanks the people who brought him bones - he's still eating those. I think Dorothy still has some roses too - there were so many! AuLive1: Murray is with us now :) Question: Where are Greg and Anthony tonight? Murray: They've gone for a drive in the big red car. Question: Do you get nervous before you do a big show? Murray: No, not nervous, we just get excited because we love doing the shows and it's great to see all our friends out in the audience. Question: How do you come up with ideas for your songs? Murray: Sometimes we get them from our own children, Greg and I both have kids. Sometimes we get them from seeing people in the audience and the things they do give us ideas. And sometimes we just sit around thinking of funny things :) Jeff: We'll all sit around together and just play music together and see what comes out. Murray: And Jeff sometimes has dreams... Jeff: I dream of songs! lol Question: Do the Wiggles have any new products or toys coming out this year? Jeff: We're not sure yet, keep an eye on our website, www.thewiggles.com for all the news and new stuff. Question: Hi Jeff, Are you suprised at your popularity outside Australia? Jeff: It's nice to know that you're known outside of Australia, but I am quite surprised. I look forward to doing concerts outside of Australia and meeting up with our overseas friends. Question: Hi my name is Brodie, Jeff how many sheep do you have to count to go to sleep? Jeff: Probably less than 10! Murray: He falls asleep pretty easily. Jeff: I don't think I've ever been past 10! Question: Is there anyway of contacting you guys to write letters to etc? Murray: You can reach us via our website, www.thewiggles.com Question: What websites do you like to visit? Murray: We look at AOL of course! You'll find lots of Wiggly fun at Keyword: The Wiggles. Question: We saw your new garden on tv a few weeks ago, do you like it? Jeff: I absolutely adore it! Murray: He loved the surprise too, I think. Jeff: It was like Santa Claus had been. I love it all - there's a piano-shaped area where I can recline and have a nap :) Question: Are you excited about your North American tour coming up? Murray: Yeah, we are. It's a real adventure going to America and we're going to a lot of places where we've never been before. Jeff: And I'm looking forward to going to Nashville... Murray: We all are! Question: How do u feel 2 be admired by so many children across the world? Murray: It's a real honour. It's a great feeling for us that so many people like what we do and like to come along to our shows. Question: Jeff, why did you choose the colour purple? Jeff: Because I like the colour purple! It's my favourite colour! Question: How do your families cope with you all being on tour so much? Murray: It's hard for my family, I've got two young children and it's hard for me being away from them and for them being away from me as well. Sometimes they come with me on tour, which is great. Question: From Brodie - Murray, how many red guitars do you have??? Murray: I think I've got three, just three. I don't need any more because I take good care of them :) Question: Hi Murray & Jeff, my name is Zane, I'm 4 & love to watch your videos! Murray: Thanks Zane, it's great to hear from you and happy wiggling! Question: M & M (6 & 5) want to know if you have lots of fun in your big red car ? Jeff: We always have fn driving around in the big red car, especially with the wind blowing in our hair. I enjoy having a nap in the back seat while we're driving around, as well. Question: How did you guys get started? Murray: We knew each other at university and we were teachers for young children and also musicians, so we put the two together and came up with The Wiggles! Question: From Alexandra & Joshua - Is Greg really good at magic? Murray: Yeah, he's great at magic, he loves doing tricks and we love to see them. Jeff: Sometimes he goes to pull a rabbit out of his hat though and instead he'll pull out a carrot! Murray: They don't always work... :) Question: Did all of you have the choice of choosing your own colours to wear? Murray: Jeff and I did, and then Anthony and Greg had a discussion about who'd have blue and Anthony won! lol Question: Why did you remake the earlier videos? Jeff: Because Wags wasn't in the earlier videos and he loved those songs so much we wanted him to be in them. Question: Any chances for a 5th Wiggle? Murray: Probably not, because there's not enough room in the big red car! Question: Rama asks how long are you going to America for? Murray: We're going for a month, starting next month, and then we're going another three times after that. Question: How old is Dorothy? & How is Wally? (Larissa aged 4) Murray: Dorothy is five dinosaur years old. It's hard to tell the age of a magician, so we're not sure how old Wally is. Comment: Hello from Ottawa Canada! Jeff: Hello back to Ottawa! We hope to get there this year sometime, but we're not sure when. Comment: Hi Murray and Jeff, I am having a Wiggles party for my 5th birthday and all my friends have to dress up as their favourite Wiggle. My dad is going to be Captain Feathersword! Love Gemma. Murray: Happy birthday Gemma! Jeff: We hope you have a fantastic day. Murray: And we'd love to see a photo of it sometime :) AuLive1: That was our last question for the night :-) Thanks for joining us at AOL Live tonight Murray and Jeff. :) Jeff: You're welcome :) Murray: Thank you, it's been great chatting with everyone. Wiggles Live: Keep on wiggling! |
