| Wiggle can now jiggle for child of his own
Jessica Strutt 04feb04 BLUE Wiggle Anthony Field is tickled pink after the birth of his daughter. The new arrival, Lucia Maria Angela Field, was born late yesterday afternoon at Randwick Hospital in Sydney. The dark-haired 54cm Lucia weighed 3.175kg. The first-time father was ecstatic yesterday. "It's great," he said. "It's the best feeling ever.Everything else pales into insignificance. "I went to bed last night thinking about her little face. "You can't top that." Anthony, 40, said Lucia was a wedding night baby whose name meant "light of the angels". Anthony's wife Mikaela, 32, has been busy doing up the nursery in between running her busy cafe. Anthony said fatherhood was a completely different feeling to simply singing and dancing in front of hundreds of adoring children. "When Lucia turns 18 months I'll be watching Big Red Car over and over again just like everyone else," he said. "I'll go on tour, come home and be surrounded by it 24 hours a day." He is hopeful his beautiful baby girl may end up becoming a Greek supermodel as her mother is of Greek descent. Anthony is the third member of the Wiggles to have children and Paul Paddick, who plays Captain Feathersword, is due to marry in March. The Wiggles should be touring America at the moment but rescheduled their itinerary after Mikaela became pregnant. The hugely successful, skivvy-wearing children's entertainers will now take a break and start their America tour in April. |
